A couple of other suggestions: 1. Ask for the out the door price and negotiate from that. 2. If financing ask the finance manager what the buy rate is {that is the interest rate the bank gives the dealer. The dealer often marks up the interest rate from his buy rate. See if you get financing using the buy rate.

These are terrific points. Always be ready to walk away from a potential buy. You’re not obligated to buy anything just because you test drive and negotiate

😅I buy my cars to last 10 years and they do because of my selection. I do not buy a car for resale value especially after ten years. I can’t imagine driving a boring uncomfortable no fun vehicle for ten years for a few dollars in return.
