We heard one of the exciting things to do in Basra Iraq was to take a boat ride down the river and check out the famous modern bridge. We found a nice local guy who took us for about 10,000 IQD which is roughly $7usd. After encountering some police, the boat ride was over and we went to check out a restaurant we were recommended by a local in Basra. In this video I am traveling Basra Iraq with my friend ‪@LukeDamant‬

It was a beautiful trip in the boat for the police position of the boat driver to ask if you are foreigners working in foreign companies inside Basra and this position only for your safety especially that there are specific times in the use of boats it is a routine procedure waiting for another beautiful video and beautiful clips waiting with all longing and passion welcome to Basra

The police asked if you were tourists or workers, they didn’t ask about a tour guide, they actually blamed the boat captain for allowing passengers getting on the roof of the boat. The entire area you were in is under construction thats why you didn’t see other boats. In general, when it comes to food, Iraqis rank sheep meat above all other types of meat thats why its very popular in restaurants. I would advise avoiding any interaction with the police, they hardly speak or understand english which would make simple stuff unnecessarily complicated. Enjoy your time 😊

@@worldnomac you relied on google translate which is pretty much useless when it comes to various arabic dialects, especially the iraqi dialect, it’s only useful for the formal/classic arabic used in media and publications, but this type of arabic is no longer being used in everyday conversations.

Basrah is my hometown born and raised there. I been living in the U.S for 13yrs I see so many opportunities for Basra to be a tourist Haven. It's unfortunate all that corruption that's going on in Iraq breaks my heart I hope one day a good leader and govt can take Basra and Iraq to a better future. I can also see another Boom Dubai like and so many Jobs and wealth...

The chesse rolls we called it Sambosak and there is meat sambosak, spinach Sambosak and Chesse Sambosak. Iraq is famous with good food, every thing made from scratch and 100% milk and chesse. 😊💜💛
