I’m so happy that I came across this video because I’ve been feeling that my ex (as of New Year’s Day) has been wasting my time for years. We reconnected after dating as teens in high school. So, since he was going through a divorce & starting his own business after leaving a 6 figure career. I felt that it wasn’t a big deal when he would be “too busy” to spend time with me to go out on dates because he had a lot on his plate. With his businesses, divorce & spending time w/his children. Because he’s a entrepreneur so he has multiple businesses going on but when I would see him & his business partner (who’s a woman) spending so much time together & feeling like she’s over stepping her boundaries as a business partner. By cooking him meals, going to his children’s activities, going to his speaking engagements & etc. When I would bring it to his attention “that she’s so out of pocket w/her actions” then he would just say that I was acting jealous instead of addressing the issue. So, I would let it go. Then, I would see him on social media flirting with his fans. So, I’ll say something about that then he BLOCKED me so I did the same on everything, too. Every time that I would break up with him which felt like every week he would beg me to stay but he would keep doing the same thing over & over again. So, I broke up with him on New Year’s Eve through text & then BLOCKED him so he couldn’t contact me. Because I can’t continue this in 2021 plus my children were seeing my feelings be hurt too much.

The first red flag for me was every time I want to express myself about what’s bothering me it turned into an argument. I starting paying attention to his responses. At first when I showed NO feelings he was attentive. As soon as I showed I only wanted HIM his energy and treatment changed. So basically he’s just enjoying himself keeping options open etc and taking advantage of the fact that I only want to deal with ONE man. I’m highly attractive and a lot of men try to date me , however I still remained celebat for 4 yrs. I thought this person would appreciate me and never hurt me or take me for granted. Prior to me taking us to the nxt level he was super sweet etc. He’s older so I’m so appalled by the fact that u this OLD still playing games knowing u chased me for yrs. Good sex isn’t enough for me. I noticed when I’m venting there’s no response. I said “your not listening to me and he would repeat what I said but no response. I’ve held back tears too many times. One minute he’ll take me out in a way everybody knows we mess around the nxt day he’s on “we not dating”. I just regret cancelling my celibacy for THIS. I’m so hurt and I just been avoiding it. He still calls but I can tell in his voice it’s bs. It’s always complaining about wat he’s going thru but I can’t get that same listening EAR. His worries are valid but mine are too. Yes, to all those 7 points 😔Broke things off back in December after a 4 month long "relationship." Intuitively, I knew something was off. I brought up all those points to him at some point throughout our relationship. I thought I was going crazy and reading too much into things, because he always had a good excuse and he was such an ethical "good guy." Thank you for this video, because it affirmed everything that I thought about. 1. He said "I want to see where things goes and take it from there." 2. He always emphasized on how busy he is as a PhD student. I had 2 internships and a part time job when I was in grad school and I was still able to make time to see my date back then. 3. He never cancels on a plan we make together. BUT he doesn't take the opportunities we had to meet up when things started to get serious. He would always make some kind of excuses, that he had some friends to see, etc. even though I had asked about plans a week before, while these friends had only asked him out a few days prior. 4. He wanted us to be exclusive, yet he doesn't invest the time and energy into getting to know me. 5. His words and actions don't match. He called me his "girlfriend" but didn't act like he was a boyfriend. Paraphrasing here, he thought that as a relationship progresses that there should be less effort put in and there should just be a natural progression and mutual understanding of things. I think he was rationalizing his noncommittal way because otherwise it would go against his own principles. 6. Most of our "dates" besides the first 2 and a few trips here and there, have always been at his place on his schedule, at his convenience. 7. Everything was at his convenience. He replied to my texts when he was not busy, which came further apart in time as he thought my texts were not urgent. He told me texting was not in his habits, that in his culture it was only used to set appointments and ask questions. Yet I saw him being frustrated when his roommate didn't reply to his text within 5 minutes, checking his phone every minute. He also suggested that we call instead of text because it tends to lead to misunderstandings, yet he never called. So the text frequency gradually lessened and there was no call.

I agree with the actions and words not lining up. The guy I was recently dating took me on dates, and asked me to be exclusive. However, he took 5 hours to text back. On top of that he always had to have everything on his time. He knew his texting habits and distance was hurting me and he didn't care.He even canceled on me twice. I had to walk away.
