I love these ideas! Super helpful :) Thank you for summarizing them so clearly and concisely. We just bought a new bed that has this built in lifting mechanism with storage underneath, unconventional but cleverrrr.

Sinks on top of toilets are common in Japan but there are on their way out because while they are sanitary, they’re not really easy or comfortable to use. 1) you have to like stand around the toilet to reach over it. 2) water usually drips all over the toilet and the surrounding floor area until you can grab a towel. 3) it’s just weird to think about the water in the toilet going on to your hands

3:41 I honestly think a LOT more bathrooms should have sinks on top of their toilets. It's relatively simple to install a diy version on top of normal toilet systems and allows for the use of used sink water aka grey water to be used to flush the toilet instead of potable drinking water that is most often used for flushing toilets and contributes to a massive waste of clean water flushed down the drain.

Ok but what about the soap in the sink above the toilet one

Soap is totally fine in toilets. Actually as a hack, if you have a clogged toilet, sometimes all you need is some soap (preferably dish soap, but handsoap can work) to unclog the toilet instead of taking out a plunger. It's a good tip to help unclog in a pinch if you're a guest somewhere too.

If you mean where to place the soap, I think there are soak dispensers that you can attach to the wall!

@@ntcssj @baixu I had a brain fart moment sorry hahah I meant since the water is used again for the toilet where would the soap go after washing your hands with it but then I realized it would just clean the toilet with the water lol
