I really wish someone would have told 6 year old me that the "Poison" dart frogs at the zoo were actually harmless in that situation. After I found out that the pretty frogs were super deadly I was deathly afraid of the building they were in for years and would not go anywhere near their display.

@@roniusadethel9768 no its didn't feel as much as such, probably because we as a community had faith that such a vehemently asked for topic (read: every damn video lol) would have to be covered sometime in the future (wrt the time before that topic was done). So we were kind of expecting it and maybe desensitised of it (idk man im guessing an answer for a question that has no right answer). This episodes came out of the blue...

One year at my high school, his one meathead senior's quote was: "If you really are what you eat, then I'm a beaver. Funny how that works." This made it all the way through the yearbook editors and was printed in the yearbook. Until someone realized what he meant and the staff had to block out the quote in each yearbook with a sharpie. By hand. A few days before we could get them. For over 1000 books.

Couldn't the assassin bugs be using the ant shells (pun intended) as a breakaway armor that not only prevent predators from grasping onto them which would also teach predators not to go after the bugs with a large ant armor because it's likely they only get dead ants that are devoid of any nutritional value?

(Assassin bug 3:05) The bug looks much bigger this way. Even if the predator is large or daring enough, it will probably just catch an empty ant shell. And this bad reward for risk and effort ought to be the reason why spiders (and perhaps others) do not attack the bug.

Wheeler Assassin bugs are the most fascinating creatures. They change their outer physiology several times, in a matter of just a couple weeks, and attack other insects, similar to the way preying mantises do. I kept some in a dry tank and fed them moths that got stuck in spider webs outside my house...they bite their heads off and drain their insides. 😓

I mean, a lot of clothing items and other accessories that we wear are technically made from part of animal corpse that we eat right. More processed for sure but it's still corpse part. It's less in the modern times but see how many cow leather and other kind of animal that we use in shoes, bags, etc

Huh...didn’t go for the obvious pink flamingo... That’s better I guess, that would have made for a pretty short explanation: “So the flamingos are pink because they absorb a pigment from the shrimp they eat. The shrimps also got their pigment from what they ate in the first place. The end.”

Thanks! I suppose I'm forced to assume that the Blue-footed Boobies *_can_* see in color? Or do they judge by the darkness or paleness of each other's feet? Burning burning question! I'm just hopping around with my pale feet, waiting to know. The poison frog segment was *_much_* more thorough. Cool. The assassin bug segment [I know, I know: *_which_* segment - head, thorax, or abdomen? Ha ha.] reminded me of both Leather-face and the movie Mimic (especially at the end, where the people cover themselves in 'bug-parts-juice' to disguise themselves - & it works. The Emerald See Slug story is fascinating! I wonder what the chances are that we're witnessing a species right in the middle of evolving toward a true hybrid of plants & animals. Thanks again.
