Hello Marie, I recently stumbled across your amazing collection of How-To videos. Having had a youtube channel myself, I appreciate not only how much work these videos entail, but also deeply appreciate your professional quality work. My brand new Paragon Caldera is sitting just 20 feet away, awaiting it's own circuit and requisite fireproofing. WOW Bob that's great! 😊👍Paragon is a VERY good kiln. Glad to see you got one that fires to cone 10. Even if you never fire to cone 10 it puts less stress on the kiln and lasts longer. Welcome to Pottery Crafters 😊 Thank you for sharing and the nice comment. It's well appreciated.

Any tip for using stamps and cookie cutters? The clay keeps sticking to my stamps and inside the cookie cutters. Is it because the clay is too wet?

Hi Amy. Yes Put a little corn starch on them. Any corn starch left on the clay will burn off in the Kiln. 😊

If I apply under glaze to bisque do I need to fire it again before applying the glaze?

Very good question Judy. No, you don't. You just need to make sure the underglaze is totally dry and be very careful not to smug your underglaze when applying your clear glaze. Dipping in clear glaze works the best. 😊👍

Thank you, Berrin. 😊 Good question. Actually, potters use the term clay throughout all the stages but once it is fired in the kiln. The composition of the clay is permanently changed into a ceramic material which is hard and breakable. 😊

Hi :) many thanks for your interesting videos. I’d like to start creating little mugs with clay for fun and maybe, why not, using them at home. I already found a laboratory with kiln in my city that permits me to fire. Can I use white clay low-fire (cone 05-06) and single-fire letting it bone dry for about 1-2 weeks and then glazing with appropriate food liquid glazes before firing? That's great 😍Yes you can, but you have to check with the person that runs the kiln. Because firing is done separately a lot. The pottery can touch when bisque firing so they stack the pottery. The final fire has glaze so the pottery has to be separated. Plus a single fire should be at a slow rate for the gases to release from clay and glaze. I hope you can. Single firing does save a lot of time. 😊

@@PotteryCrafters many thanks for your answer. You’re so inspiring! :) My great doubt was about the low fire clay, but I’m happy that you told me it’s ok for that. Being a hobby I have enough time to wait for the clay to be super iper bone dry and I really hope to avoid the bisque 🤞
