Isetan Men's in Shinjuku has an entire floor dedicated to Japanese street wear-so, so good. There is also Hankyu Men's near Hirakacho Station, multiple floors dedicated to designer labels. Yohji has so many lines. I get emails daily with a different line showing new arrivals.

Sacai becomes more affordable relative to their own stuff when you look at collaborations. You might not get the same quality but you do get a similar design or details for a lot less. Two examples: 1) the 2020 collab with Nike saw the release of Sacai’s signature hoodie with the MA-1 style paneling. Looks very similar to the mainline stuff but at a 60% reduction ($275 vs $660). 2) last year’s collab with APC. That hoodie with the side vent zips. You usually see that on Sacai higher end pieces that are usually double the price at a minimum compared to the $390 for that hoodie (and for the most part, aren’t on Sacai hoodies). Sounds stupid but that little detail with the side zips is neat.

For an alternative to Rick Owens and Yohji, check out the Singaporean brand 'Depression'. Though, the catch is that they don't really have much available right now and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone selling pieces from a relatively unheard brand in the aftermarket. I got a t-shirt that was rather unassuming at first but I quicky became very impressed by its quality and comfort after a couple of wears.
