Hi my Bells Palsy initially occurred on 5/21/19. What I did- was watch your videos & others related to Bell’s palsy exercises, massage, nutrition etc here on KZfaq & applied those concepts. I did the facial exercises/massage videos I saw here & other KZfaq pages 2x/day & was consistent. I increased my vitamin b6& b12 supplement intake. In addition I started taking a Turmeric & Ginger combo supplement that I got @ Whole foods for inflammatory response. I began eating clean,Whole Foods. Similar to whole 30/paleo concepts.Initially in the emergency room the physician prescribed steroids & antiviral medication. In addition I started Accupunture as of the 1st week & went 1 x/week for 6 sessions. Even after the 1st session my coworkers noticed a difference.I am now 100% recovered 🙏🏼🙏🏼😬.I would say about week 5-6 is when I felt more “ normal”.Your positive motivation in your videos was very helpful. Since trying to reduce stress & remain positive is very important during recovery time. Since every person is different & each incident is different it’s always best to consult w/your physician.Thank you

Got Bell's Palsy 2 and a half weeks ago and started to see minor improvements on the 2nd week. I can see the corner of my mouth activate and also my eyebrow rise up or down when frowning etc. My cheek and tongue are still numb though but it's promising. The doctor prescribed me Prednisone Corticosteroids (100mg for 7 days then 3 days less of 50mg). This is key for increasing recovery chances as some studies show an increase of 20% (60% without vs 80% with). I would however NOT recommend doing facial exercises too early during the 2-3 weeks of recovery because it can put a lot of strain in the nerves and you might overdo it and potentially not let it heal or worse damage it permanently and not have full recovery, someone else on KZfaq shared this experience. You could probably massage your face but very gently to maybe help the flow but I think honestly just relax and let it heal, but then again everyone's case is can be different. All the other tips given are very good however and thank you for sharing and spreading the word.

Thank you for an informative video - your advice is sound and after one week I am seeing improvements. I have had a combination of Shingles in the scalp area which has triggered Bells Palsy - definitely one to avoid! The biggest single challenge is protecting the affected eye and this is a daily challenge. Anyone reading this should watch the video that goes through recommended exercises - these are most helpful.

In addition to facial exercises, what worked for me was: L-Lysine (1,000mg max a day). 1 oral drop of the liquid form of Folic Acid B Vitamin (B12, B6). Not sure if the pill form is as effective. 1 dose of Zinc (50mg). I also did a session of acupuncture, which worked wonders. I recovered 95% within 3 weeks. I went to the hospital yesterday and picking up my medications today. It is very upsetting and I do try to stay calm and have faith. I am more upset about the skin over my right eye drooping than not being able to smile on my right side of my face. I have also been having eye irritation. Very sensitive to light and wind. This is a very good video. The doctor said that people usually see the improvement in about a month so it is important for me to gather good information like in this video and do everything I can in the beginning one month window.

It's been about 7 days now for me I'm only 20, bells palsy effects anyone. I'm on steroids and antibiotics but I'm not sure I'm getting better yet. Still no movement. I remember it started with a very bad headache and my tongue felt funny and everything tasted weird. My taste is a little better I guess but still unable to move the right side of my face at all. I hope this gets better. I hear sometimes it does go away. Time heals it mostly. Nerve damage is tricky. I personally laugh bc I look goofy when I smile and it's kinda funny. But I cry too lol. I don't wanna stay like dis bruh lol. Good luck to us. Thanks for the tips. Idk about you guys but I also experience a lot of soreness on the affected along my face, behind the ear always hurts in this case so other than that its a b r I c k.

Samisnotsleeping Hi! I have the same condition right now but it’s because I got my right ear operated due to infection. How is it going now with you? Hope you’re doing well.

@@joannmt1768 I'm all healed. The first thing to come back was the movement of my mouth. The eye brow was a little more difficult. I stopped taking the medication bc it made my heart beat too fast lol. And I just did the exercises on my face with my hand almost all day. Raising my eye brow, Everytime I smile or spoke I'd use my hand to help me. It came back within a month. I have noticed in some of my videos that the side I had the palsy on, my eye seems to close slightly slower sometimes. It's a good thing to do the exercises and to practice blinking a lot even after things come back.

Samisnotsleeping You mean to say that your face is functioning now the way it was? That’s good to know. Mine’s progress is 45% I think. It has been a month. It’s frustrating at times. But thanks for sharing your story. ⁑ ⦆

@Anthony Conino it took me maybe about 2 months to get back to normal and be able to move again. But I still experience sharp pains in my head and tightness around my inner eye and nose area. You have to take steroids and practice moving your face muscles everyday.

I have a tumor on my 7th nerve on the right side partially paralyzing the right side of my face. My botox injector (for the left side of my face) injected a small amount of botox under my right eye and under my bottom lip since I complained of wrinkles. she forgot I was already partially paralyzed. I am now at the 7 month mark after she 'hurt' me - I am now more paralyzed on the right side. Seven months and I am still more paralyzed than I normally was. I am crying myself to sleep every night. Bottom line - My paralyzed face is even more paralyzed due to botox injections. It is wearing off but very very very slowly. Please help me with any special exercises or massages you can give me to get this botox out of my face. thank you so much
