I am currently single. But recently about a few months ago me and this boy that goes to my church, he happens to be the pastors son, I noticed that I was starting to see him in a different way. And at the moment I thought I was crazy but I felt like God was telling me that that’s who I’m going to marry or that that’s who he wants me to marry. And I thought that for a few months and I prayed and prayed about it and ask God to take those thoughts away if it wasn’t for his glory or it wasn’t what he wanted for me. And one day I went to go visit my mom because I currently live with my dad and she said she wanted to talk to me about something. Mind you, I’ve never ever ever mentioned this boy to my mom. And for a long time I was praying to God to show me and sign if he really is the one for me. And my mom wanted to have a talk with me and she said the following “I don’t know if I’m crazy or if this is all in my head but I feel like God really, really wants me to tell you this. I think that you and the pastors son are meant to be more then just friends. I think that you guys will do extraordinarily things for the lord and he wants you to know that.” At the moment I was so shook and I started to cry. I was so overwhelmed with emotions because the thought I have been having taht I thought were from God but I wasn’t sure so I just kept denying it, it ended up being true. And once I got back home he said that he urgently needed to talk to me about something. And he said the following “I know this is going to sound crazy, and I know that this is completely out of the blue. But I truly feel that this is what God is telling me. I think that God wants us to be more then friends. Maybe husband and wife one day.” And at that moment I started to cry and cry. He said that he have been praying about it for about 5 months and the answer has never seemed so clear. And I have been praying about it for about the same amount of time. We talk about things and for now we are just friends. We are both very very young, he is 17 and I am 16. And for now we want to focus on God and have God be the main focus of our life. Because we don’t want to have to be in a committed relationship at such a young age. We want our relationship with the lord to be as solid as can be before we decide to go further into our relationship. This dating video really helped me see some views on what I should work on and what I should consider once me and this guy start dating. So thank you so much for this video and so sorry for the long story.

I’m 18, and I’m not a virgin. I thought that I owed my boyfriend (now my ex) sex, and I was too scared to have that conversation with him. I want the next time I have sex to be on my wedding night, and if a man doesn’t understand that, then he’s not the right man. If any young woman or man out there is reading this and feels like their SO is pressuring them to have sex (or even be intimate in any way), please know that you deserve better than that. Just because so many people have sex, doesn’t mean that you have to as well. I wish I had heard this when I was in that position.

Great advice! There is a right way to date. Having a close relationship with the Lord first is best. He will always lead you the right way. He will definitely let you know if the person you are dating is not the one.

Finding the right person it’s not always going to look simple, sometimes it takes you getting out of your comfort zone and asking God to give you the wisdom and discernment to choose the right person, and to give you the confidence to open up and meet people because you never know what God has in store but you can’t don’t want a put pressure so much on yourself, just stay true who you are and the right person will see that

I also made it clear that I am saving myself for marriage and he respects that. I think what we may be struggling with is patience. Our relationship has developed fast in just a couple weeks. Guys I really loved this. I have lived a lustful past and 100% it was harder to cut off the attachment if we had already been intimate. I found myself staying even when I felt like the person was so wrong for me. God intended for us to have sex but within marriage because that soul tie is so hard to break. He doesn't want us to feel that pain. What a Great God we serve. And also thank yall for being the light on social media.

I read in a book (Defining Decade by Meg Jay--10/10 recommend!!) that couples think that living together is a good way to test whether they'd work out as a married couple (seems logical). However, studies have shown that it is actually not a good way to test this because of what psychologist call the sliding effect. Most couples live together because they had already been sleeping over at each other's places so it would be more convenient to just live together. They just casually decide to live together; there's no serious commitment involved. People always rationalize that if they wanted to get out of the current situation, it would be easy because they're not married to the other person. (This is also flawed thinking. Obviously, moving out is much easier than getting divorced, but moving out is still much more difficult than just breaking up with someone.) Because couples *slide* into a situation that requires commitment without the actual commitment, they are more likely to drag their feet in getting married or they might *slide* into getting married without thinking of how much of a commitment it is. Don't quote me on this because I don't have the book in front of me. You can google "the sliding effect" for more informed information, though.

If I only had someone to date with... I'll be 22 this year and nobody has ever been interested with me 😅 To be honest I'm already sick of being sick of loneliness lmao! But if it's God's plan, I have nothing to complain about. He knows what's the best for me even if I sometimes can't understand it. Just let God lead your life ❤️

I am now dating a friend who said that he loved me since yr 2 and when I left the school in yr4 he thought he'd never see me again because I moved so far away. When I came back last year he was so happy and confessed that he liked me. I'd never dated anyone (or even had a crush) before him so I was waiting to see if I liked him, we started dating this year. He is a Christian and so nice and amazing to me, he asks if I'm comfortable with holding hands or hugging and never steps over the line. I'm glad that he persisted with dating me because he loves me so much and now I love him. 😊❤

Last summer I was talking to a guy and though I pretty quickly realized it wasn’t going to work, I really appreciated that he initiated clarity! Check out Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s wedding sermon. He’s famous for one that he wrote while imprisoned by the Nazis.. That “not wanting to text” mood though... It’s not exactly wrong. I’m more of a phone call kind of guy. I barely text my Mom. It’s also important to give grace to people and stick around long enough to get to actually know them. The most important, is that marriage is a commitment; One of the the biggest commitments one can make. And it’s nobody’s decision to make but your own. I’m of the mind that expecting God to give you a wife on a silver platter, and do the heavy lifting for you is not exactly correct. And our Christian dating culture is full of talk about it. I would expect that God, having sacrificed his only Son, would prefer us to learn what it’s truly like to lay down our lives for another person and commit to them, despite our own fear and misgivings. Just because something doesn’t “feel right” at any given moment doesn’t mean it’s wrong. As someone that’s looking towards marriage, I can tell you that not everything is rainbows and unicorns: I’m excited, but there have also been moments of anxiety, and I think that’s pretty natural. Imagine being a woman, and being given over to a complete stranger by your father 🙄 Choosing a husband or wife today is tame compared to how it used to be.

Song of Solomon is a really good book to look at for dating advice! My youth group looked at it and it was so helpful talking ab barriers and a bunch of other things! So if anyone wants more dating advice from the Bible I would suggest Song of Solomon. Love y’all
