You guys are a freaking godsend. I bought the core set a few years ago and stopped playing rather quickly because I got lost trying to play solo. But I got interested in playing again a couple of weeks ago. I'm still terrible at it, but thanks to you guys I am learning so much. I added a Revised Core to my collection and I am getting a complete Dunwich set later this week. (And Gloria Goldberg too!) Thank you for the 100s of videos I have yet to watch on your channel. And you're all so cute too. That helps a lot!

One thing that I neglected for the longest time was card draw, I always thought the cards that gave you more cards were a waste of space, better put in a good Ally or weapon or Unexpected Courage. It's incredible how hampered you are when all you get is one draw during the Upkeep phase, and how much this changes once you start using good card draw economy.

I find myself using Guts and its variants less and less in my more recent decks, and even though it's only a single card you draw on a success, you feel that. Tutors for certain cards are cool, sure, but draw is really powerful. You have so many great cards in your decks, you should get to see more of them in a game lol

Card draw is the most powerful effect in probably every card game.

5:12 Great Deck Pyramid is great indeed and I like your approach to the card distribution within it. The only thing it is missing, in my opinion, is weakness management which should be between function and fun with an asterisk "*" to indicate it is not mandatory. Some investigators have straightforward or mild weaknesses that are not worth carrying about, but sometimes a weakness totally switches your main engine off and you need from 1 to, sometimes, up to 6 cards to manage it. Yes, these cards may often be a part of your economy or function at the same time, but nonetheless

This video is pretty helpful. Always hate taking Hidden Cache, but.... I like the presenters engagement with the camera, keeps the flow going.

I agree that the pyramid is best but I definitely decide jank first and then do the pyramid to save the deck

Nothing wrong with that. That's just good deckbuilding.

New player here - love the video and the tips. Quick question - are the neutral skill cards that have card draw on a success considered economy cards? I love that you guys actually gave approximate numbers of cards in each of the pyramid levels.

@@wpavia Because they don't get you ahead on either cards or resources, the neutral skills aren't treated as economy. I treat them as function, because they help me do my goal and replace themselves afterwards.

All this videos would be so much better and understandable if you would show the cards in the video

I play two handed solo and all classes (even guardian with evidence and scene of the crime) are always flex, I just like it that way. Might try dedicated DD and dedicated "cluerer".

Step 1: have Russell keep you company. I remember playing Daisy way back when in Dunwich. I ended a scenario with 20+ resources courtesty of Dr. Milan. No spoilers, but removing Emergency Cache was a huge mistake. My economy without Milan in play was non-existent.
