Some of our social media posts are getting out of hand. In this video, I share 7 types of social media posts that I believe that Christians just need to STOP making. Social media has become a very popular way for people to express themselves. However, we need to make sure that our social media use and communication on social media reflects the character of Christ at all times.

I believe the most dangerous temptation for Christians is attention-seeking. A life that doesn't show Christ is not worth our effort.

I would definitely push back and say that either idolatry, the 7 abominations from proverbs, or especially unbelief are the most dangerous temptations for any Christian. Unbelief being THE most dangerous one in my opinion, with idolatry being a close second.

I want to say this to you with as much love as I can, especially after this video, lol. Unfortunately, I think you got sucked in again. Laugh with me, I'm laughing at us both. Allen is talking about comments like yours, and mine. You said, "I got off social media", obviously you didn't, you're here leaving a comment, right? You said you got off because of the boasting. Yet, you're here boasting about getting off social media because of all the boasting these days. Which you said all stems from pride, lol. This is just my opinion, but, I think we all need to read what we have written before we press the "reply" button. I do, lol. See the pride in that "I do", lol? Allen, is spot on, lol. I agree with you! It's like the old folks in my day always said, "If you can't say something nice about something, or, someone, don't say anything at all". God's not done working on any of us. With all my love, Sandy - a woman of faith in Jesus Christ. I pray His mercy on us all, amen!!!! God loves His children!!! He's a good, good, teacher, amen!!! Even worse when you live in the rural where everybody knows your name more than Cheers. I lived 30.5 in a big city urban area and 17 years in rural. Not many know me around here, but I here about gossip spreading quicker than wildfire in rural. I even had a debate ( not an intense one ) where someone made mention of could never want to live in housing due to gossip. This person lives this area since birth except for a brief time in a different area, but always lived in the rural. My response was that it is a rural thing ( because even outside housing is gossip).

Politics has become an idol for a lot of people. Christian content creators are included. I appreciate this video
@derekc6770

Amen. Politics is, in my opinion, "toxifying" certain sects of Christianity. Christians have diverse views on earthly politics and while we do need to be aligned on the Word and what God absolutely expects from us, I just don't think earthly politics is so cut and dry that we should outright demonize and judge others (not to mention that we shouldn't judge anyway as there is only one true Judge). But I won't say more on that as I think the succinct nature should be enough and I pray other Christian leaders and creators follow this guidance in the future to avoid diving into such quagmires.
@monzorella1
@monzorella1 4 ай бұрын
The politics is a very real concern. I'm British and the way I see my fellow American Christians react to politics is appalling and heartbreaking to watch. I see alot of fear that manifests into anger and aggression. On surface the idol is the republican party but if you look at the root of it, the real idol is White Dominance/Supremacy. I beg my brothers and sisters in Christ to take a real hard look their heart to see if racism is playing a role in your life and the way you vote.

@@monzorella1Bullshit. "White supremacy". You sound like a woke progressive "christian" .I don't think I have to ask what you're view on abortion and homosexuality is. Pretty sure it doesn't align with the Bible.

It’s horrid, toxic and uncalled for. I have many Christian “friends” who have attacked me because I don’t see eye to eye with them, or I change the subject when politics come to the table. Two people have even come to me at church and “set me straight” whispering because they don’t want anybody hearing the horrible things they’re saying. We Christians elect a man to become a president not a god. I wave God’s flag not a man’s, I wear my Christian swag, not a politician. Our command is to spread the gospel of Jesus, not the message of a politician.

@johndavolta3124 Oh no. TLDR, I knew exactly that my actions were sinful before God and every time I sinned I would cry out deep within my heart "I'm sorry, Lord." I would avoid prayers cuz I knew they were an abomination, given my sinful nature. Everytime I went to church, it was out of sheer reluctance. I would avoid any of Brother Allen's videos that talked about hell fire or videos where he called Christians to order. Meanwhile my wife was the only spiritual pillar of our household while me, her husband was out committing adultery and consuming vile and pornographic content. This all changed a few days after New Year day of 2024 when I had a dream encounter in which I woke up that morning completely saved, and filled with this uncommon zeal to study the Bible and go to church and do only the things that please God. I now find sin so hideous that I ask myself how come I was able to put up with it for so many years? I am glad to announce that I am completely transformed and the old me is gone (Paul wasn't playing when he said old things have passed away!) I have gladly picked up my mantle as the priest over my household and I rely on God COMPLETELY in everything I do. Hallelujah 🙌🙌🙌

Oh it's bad with both men and women. And when modesty is brought up, people get defensive, angry, and easily offended. You have to be very careful with certain believers because some grasp this with full understanding, yet others are still growing or lack the maturity to understand this. Grace is there thankfully, but some choose not to see how important modesty is

Thanks brother. I have had to stop myself when I wanted to make an angry post or rant. I realized it wasn’t doing any good, and it’s also why I don’t reply to most comments I get on my channel anymore if they’re just angry rants or insults. If they took the time to insult me or rant at me, I don’t think a comment from someone they don’t know is going to change their mind. Also, I am still working to subdue my temper, and I know if I get into a discussion like these, that I’m going to lose my temper all over again. Lastly, thank you for calling out those last posts. I’ve seen so many people make those kinds of posts telling me that if I love Jesus, I have to like and share their post, but like you said, my love for Jesus does not depend on me clicking a button on my phone. Stay blessed brother.

Thanks for the video Brother Allen. Social media can be used for good. Unfortunately we see way too much strife and division caused by careless post. I believe some of the people have made post/comments they would not have the courage to say in a one on one, face to face conversation. (Keyboard courage.)

@toreyhorton1789

Pharisees, Sadducees, and scribes were not politicians. Jesus’ discussion with them never involved politics. He mainly held the Pharisees responsible for adhering to the Law and their obligation to be unhypocritical in their teachings. The only time I can remember Jesus remotely having a political-like discussion is when he instructed people to pay their taxes. That was significant since Jews believed they were being unfairly targeted by Rome by way of an “oppressive” head tax law. Jesus didn't tell them to rebel or fight the government because they viewed the laws as unfair. He simply told them to pay the tax. Even, if some of those taxes were used to maintian or erect buildings dedicated to the worship of false gods in Rome. Pay the tax is Jesus told them. It's not up to you to determine what they do with the money. I’m holding you responsible for obeying the laws of the land is essentially what Jesus taught and so did Paul. *ROMANS 13:1-4* Don't RESIST. Obey the laws.

Ask yourself this question, If you want the church to have power in America, would you be perfectly happy if that was the Black and Latino Church? If no, ask yourself why?

You seem more interested in dividing people up into racial categories and engaging in one sided politics. As Christians are skin color isn't relevant, we are all children of God. It's also inaccurate to claim the Republican party is the problem, they are only a part of it. The Democrat party is just as much of a problem.

I absolutely hate when Christians say that if you don't vote for x political party you aren't a Christian. When I was a new Christian I voted as a Democrat. I hear Christians all the time say that if you don't vote republican you aren't a Christian. I am a Christian and voted Democrat the first year I was a Christian. Your political party doesn't determine your relationship with Jesus. Your commitment and relationship to Him does. I'm so tired of hearing Christians say that if you don't vote a certain way you aren't Christian. If I would've heard that my first year as a Christian, I would've walked away. I had my reasons for voting Democrat. I don't anymore, but I don't judge those who do because I don't know everything about their relationship with Jesus.

LOVE these callouts, thanks so much, Brother Parr! I'm like you, I've often started to type out certain replies but realize it probably isn't fruitful and either rephrase what I am saying or simply choose to let it go and not respond at all. As you said, often those people who provoke a strong response are not open to changing their views. One additional point I would add to your list about what is shown in our posts is images or even written content about our children. I get the sense that many parents take safety for granted and don't always think about what they might be revealing and to whom.
