There are some opening cinematics there are just so good, we never ever skip them! Whether they set the tone perfectly, or they are just downright cool - we are not pressing that skip button. Are there any videogame intros that you can't resist watching every time? Let us know in the comments!

This list needs more Final Fantasy VIII. I never minded that the cutscenes were unskippable on PS1, I would have never skipped any of them anyway, especially not the opening cinematic with Liberi Fatali. That song and One-Winged Angel made me take Latin in high school.

FFVIII opening cutscene is amazing but they are talking about cutscenes that start before you press "new game". So ff8 opening cutscene wouldn't count in this category. But if they do another video on best opening cutscenes ff8 better be there.

Kingdom Hearts CG intro's blew my mind! And the music is so unique as well. I'd start a new game multiple times just to watch em.

Something that I appreciate with Persona is the music is amazing and SOMEHOW they one up themselves with the updated extended version. Persona 3 went hard with Burn My Dread then went Harder with FES's intro. 4 went hard with Pursuing My True Self then HARDER with Shadow World from Golden. Lastly 5 went hard with Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There but good GOD Did it go harder with Colors Flying High for Royal

Hype man! This write up is so true. I haven't played Royal and I think 4 is still my favorite soundtrack, but all the music is spectacular they have to feel the pressure working on 6.

Persona 5 (and Royal) is amazing! Since you didn't talk directly about it, Yakuza 0 gets my attention everytime - all of the Yakuza series intros are incredible tbh :)

Feels like they're underrated somehow but the 0 one is flat out incredible. Hell the music throughout the whole game is great with Twin Dragons and Oath of Enma for 2 of the boss fights

The opening FMV on FF8 prior to the menu booting up always has a place in my heart. The battle with Squall and Seifer, Edea looking all gloom and the GF's throwing out some serious power....ahhhh so good 😎

3 games that I never skip the intros are, Chrono Cross, Tales of the Abyss, and Tales of Berseria. I still pull up the intros on KZfaq and watch them from time to time.

The opening sequence of Elden Ring is amazing it describes how the titular Elden Ring was shattered and how it's fragments were claimed by the demigod children of Queen Marika. It then goes on to show the characters who could potentially become the new Elden Lord like Sir Gideon Ofnir, Fia the deathbed companion and the loathsome Dung Eater to name a few examples.

The original opening to Dragons Dogma on PS3, before Dark Arisen, is the only one I wouldn't skip. That ridiculous Into Free song is so legendary it would be rude to skip it.

Some games i recall i always watched their intro cinematics before playing are: BLOODY ROAR and TEKKEN 2, as well as COMMAND AND CONQUER RED ALERT for Ps1. FINAL FANTASY X for Ps2. KILLZONE 2 and THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK, also MAG and DEMON'S SOULS for Ps3. and PERSONA 5 as already mentioned in the video. Those are just off the top of my head, and often, i watched them so much i had the words memorized if the intro cinematics had dialogue. ☺

Sonic Heroes is 100% the correct choice for a Sonic intro. It's easily the best main theme for any of the 3D era Sonic titles.

All the Borderlands games had great music choices. I have a special soft spot for all the Tales From the Borderlands episodes' opening songs (and the end credits song on the last episode, "My Silver Lining" by First Aid Kit, which just got another big boost from Umbrella Academy).

I don't know if this counts since it's an intro that plays when you load a game file, but one of my favorites is the intro for Wild Arms 3. Not only is it good, but there's four different versions depending on how far you get in the game, there's an instrumental version with whistling instead of lyrics, and the vocals are sometimes in Japanese rather than English.

The intros for onimusha 2 & 3 are both fantastic! The onimusha 3 intro from 1min 55sec and forward is a masterclass in animation and direction. Better than most top tier action Movies. Do yourself a favor and take a look if you havent seen it before.

1 hour ago Final Fantasy IX, I love that intro music and the opening cinematic is sublime. I find myself whistling the intro tune every so often, it's that good. Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver is a fantastic one as well. Visually stunning, well voice acted and the music is great. The intro is not to be skipped.

I still love the borderlands 1 and 2 I tro scenes cage the elephant and the heavy 2 great bands and retro games the intro cinematic for quake 2 was at the time so exciting . Dropping onto an alien world watching pods get blown out of the sky while radio chatter is filled with screams and gunfire only to fall silent as you smash through a roof. A few more you should check out . The red alert 2 intro . The original rainbow 6 cinematic the music is nice and everytime I see it I get flashbacks to playing it on the ps1 back in the late 90s and lastly the original battlefield Vietnam intro not the dlc for bad company 2 Vietnam but the stand alone game that came out just after bf1942

Wild Arms (1 and 3) and Final Fantasy (VIII and X) are the main ones that spring to mind, mostly because of the incredible music, if I'm honest. Persona 5 is dripping with cool, though, no doubt about it. Also Banjo Kazooie, but I'm probably not allowed to mention that one on this channel, right? ;)

The opening of Darksiders 3 was epic with. Grand lore about the 4 horse men with comic book style. Also person 4 was my first game in the series and had a great musical opener.

I appreciate the original but the intro sequence to Persona 5 Royal absolutely wipes the floor with it in my opinion, the first time I played it I closed the game and rebooted it to watch it again!

I'll just choose one: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. That has the best piece of music, because it's so ambient. It explores Hyrule Field as the ocarina plays. I haven't skipped this in the entire time I have owned the game. Literally, day one player and could never bring myself to skip. The nostalgia of it both excites and breaks my heart every time I boot it up.

I have a bunch of others, but I must mention Majora's Mask. There are several different sections that can play in different orders, but they all have such a calm and slice of life sort of feeling to them, watching the residents go about their lives. Then the music twists and sours as the full horror of the Moon's glaring face is revealed, with the logo fading into place over its eye. I just think it's neat.

Jet Set Radio Future. Game starts and a guy is yelling: UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT OF LOVE! I'll also add Vanilla Street Fighter 4. The song Indestructible and the fresh new visuals really brought the game into the modern era.

Final Fantasy 6. Not only the best FF, but that music and thunder storm intro are just so damn good, you loose yourself until the classic FF title music, in it's glorious snes style, kicks in. Pure gaming glory

Final Fantasy X AND X-2 (yes, yes). Beyond the great openings (who can say no to watching "Yuna" sing a catchy song in X-2), there is sentimental factor of playing with my daughter when she bought the games for me on Father's Day decades ago. Not one second can be skipped. We still play to this day (for the 100th time) even though she is in college and I am middle aged and balding :-)

Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven is definitely my favourite opening, with Silent Hill 4 and The Unholy War in second and third. Man, I really miss opening cinematics being commonplace.

Gauntlet Dark Legacy was such a fun game! Loved playing it with my friends coach co-op. Still think persona 5 is the coolest intro ever made but FF8 or Valkyrie Chronicles 4 are pretty cool as well.

Kingdom hearts 1 and 2 and FFX on ps2 loved kingdom hearts 2 the most cus of my sanctuary playing through the opening (btw i went with the orignals cus they blew my mind when i was younger playing them on the ps2 for the very first time and yes i have the 3 remasters on ps5)

I glad they used the theme song from the 80s/90s cartoon, it was called Teenage mutant hero turtles in the uk cant rember the reason for it but i think it had something to do with ninjas, but they did use the word ninja in 2000s reboots onwards

Persona 5's intro was absolutely god-tier and Majima's intro in Yakuza 0 is one i'll always remember, great video again guys :) EDIT: in terms of intro cinematics: Persona 4 Golden is one of my favourites :)

The Dynasty Warriors Intros are always FREAKIN awesome. The person playing the guitar is just going at it 110% & I love it. Silent Hill 1,2 & 3 Intros are brilliant too.

Tekken 4's intro will forever be something I remember as just the absolute coolest, even though 4 was the first Tekken I ever experienced and had no idea who the characters were at all. It was just so *aggressively badass*

For me it's the intro of the first Trails of Cold Steel. The animations I love for each intro of the series but it's the music that makes me love the one from the first game the most. I was seriously peeved when the 2nd game had another intro songs. The others have really cool songs too or at least they grew on me over time but this first song is THE Trails of Cold Steel theme for me.

Beach, opening montage and that brilliant score in Final Fantasy VIII, the formation of the world and haunting music in the original Civilization, the journey to the mansion in Day of the Tentacle, Indy stumbling his way through the intro to Fate of Atlantis and Guybrush obliviously bemoaning his fortunes in the intro to Curse of Monkey Island.

When I purchased my first copy of Wild Arms, the clerk at the local game shop made me promise that I would never skip the intro. I purchased that game for the first time in 1999 and since, I have purchased it many more times. I have yet to skip the intro.

I hunted Gauntlet Dark Legacy for over a decade. I hunted for a PS1 game by mistake, saw The Fiery Joker play it, reconized it and proceeded to buy it. For me this was nostalgia and a fulfilling end to a long quest. My parents played this and now I'm able to play it whenever.

Eternal Eyes, Wild Arms and Suikoden II (all PS1) and also Suikoden IV (PS2)! They do an awesome job at presenting the mood of the game and make you fall in love with each of their heroes (and villains) even before you know what their deal is! And all, of course, accompanied by AMAZING music! Nothing but love for these intros.

The Chrono Trigger anime intro is this for me. For one thing, I wouldn't skip the regular intro because of that amazing theme song, but then add in an anime and it's unskippable.

Tekken 5 for me. Asuka on her bike, a very cool song (Sparking), graphics I still can't get over that they were that good on PS2, etc.
