FFXV - Later in the game you are in a compound and Ardyn is speaking to Noctis on an intercom. He tells you exactly where to go but I purposely went the other way, you know, to check for loot and then Ardyn speaks to you again saying he knew you'd go that way. I was so shocked! But it was a pretty neat detail.

I love it when characters n games that ask you to collect specific items for quests are amazed or taken aback when you already have the items they need and the player character is like “I already have those” or “is it these?”.

In Tomb Raiders 1 if you jump in Midas hand you get turned to gold. At that time I knew of that legend of Midas' Touch. Especially with Alladin 3. But I jumping on the hand anyway and was like bruh when Lara turned into gold.

I made a completely different mistake in Skyrim. I aggroed the guy who led me through the tutorial. The whole town attacked me for just approaching. The game was unplayable.

oh ,once i accidentally aggroed Frea in Solstheim by SNEAKing up on her! AND i foolishly quicksaved JUST after that! i had to load an earlier save and walk ALL the way back there.

God of War 2018 has alternate dialogue for taking out the Valkyries in a bizarre order. For example, after defeating Gondul she’ll scream “freedom” and Kratos will be more baffled than in the mood to ask questions since it’s supposed to be the local Valkyries at Midgard that you’re expected to warm up on first

Remember how in the original Ace Attorney trilogy, you would always know if you presented the right evidence when the music stopped playing... except for the very last case in the trilogy, when you present the final evidence and the music continues to play regardless of what you present. 😂 Like, the whole trilogy was building up to that moment, when the developers knew exactly that every single player would get a heart attack and reload the game immediately. lol

I never even noticed if the music stopped after presenting correct evidence or not - I rather always had an eye on the amounts of life in the corner which would disappear when correct. And even if it kept on blinking - no need to panic yet, it could be possible that another choice was about to follow.

I dont think its on playstation but.. The rogue game Dungeonmanns. The whole true ending is the developers insight into player behavior and it was pretty awesome to uncover.

Evil within is one my favourite games I picked it up in 2015 so glad I gave a it chance couldn’t believe when a sequel came out in 2017 still holding out hope for evil within 3😭

Speaking of Metal Gear, the bit about killing Jar Jar reminded me of killing Ocelot during the Volgin fight in MGS3; you’d get a Game Over with the onscreen message changing to “Time Paradox”.

The devs know everything. That is why they put the 'I Swear! I Did It by Mistake!' in Lollipop Chainsaw and the 'What Are You Doing?' and 'Daredevil' trophies in the Nier series. Or if you pirate a game, they'd make it unable to play like being unable to grapple anything in Batman Arkham Asylum. Or if you think cows are resource cows in Witcher, they send a Big Cow who thinks the player is the resource material. A really BIG cow. Or how they know that a player is gonna light a stick of dynamite, thinking they didn't light it, throw it on the floor to shoot the fuse (cause remember they definitely didn't light it), only for everything to go BOOM.

if i recall correctly then technically the witcher one happened after people started farming cows for money, so it wasnt really the developers predicting what the player would do and more them reacting to what players are already doing lol but i get what you were going for :)

There’s one in House Flipper Pets DLC if you’re cutting grass with the trimmer and go to close to your pet, the game calls you on it

Elden Ring, at the very start of the game: you beat the grafted Scion, you see a nascent butterfly... You reach out to it, only to meet your doom. That's what you get for being a greedy butterfly connoisseur!

Putting on the Raiden mask in MGS 3. While you get a few free hits in Volgin becomes more aggressive and will bludgeon you if you don't remember the basics of CQC.

oh, remember the famous "Konami code"? up,up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B,A, start. i think i've heard that a few games that would do very silly things if you tried that. Metal Gear Revengeance will unlock "very hard" mode and "revengeance" mode.

The first time I encountered Patches in a Soulsborne game. I was so happy to see an NPC (even if he was slightly creepy) that I didn't question going near the hole that had some treasure in it. I realized my mistake as soon as I saw the cutscene play& ever since then if I see any goodies out all by themselves in a Soulsborne game I know it's a trap probably laid by that little schemer

I had no idea there was a big monster in the lake my first time playing RE4 I remember trying to shoot some fish swimming in the shallows to collect for some health, ended up getting a pretty good jump scare instead.

Is it just me, or when The Phantom Menace dropped on PS1 I thought it was one of the hardest games at the time? I was really young at the time, but still I remember being stuck on like.....level 2 or 3.

Red asphalt was a ps1 game and my first slap in the face for cheating. It let you put cheats in. Get all the way to the end. Then say you cheated and force a restart. Pure evil coded that.

Edit: way before getting Skyrim, I saw many memes about the chicken being one you should not screw around with...well good thing I remembered when doing my first playthrough....
