3:43 Diabetes explained
5:50 The 7 warning signs you’re eating too much sugar
9:55 Thanks for watching
In this video, we’re going to talk about the seven warning signs that you’re eating too much sugar.
Insulin resistance is a situation where your cell receptors begin to resist insulin. As insulin resistance progresses, it turns into pre-diabetes and diabetes.
If you can address insulin resistance early, you can help reduce your risk of pre-diabetes and diabetes. However, doctors rarely test for insulin resistance. This test is known as HOMA-IR.
At least 33% of the population has insulin resistance-most don’t know about it.
What causes insulin resistance? It’s caused by high insulin, which is a result of too much sugar and carbohydrates in the diet.
The American Medical Association recommends no more than 6 to 9 tsp of added sugar daily. However, most adults consume at least 9 tsp of sugar per day, and the average teenager consumes around 18.5 tsp of added sugar each day.
All carbohydrates turn into sugar, with the exception of fiber. When you include sugar from carbs, the average person consumes over half a pound of sugar daily.
It’s important to spot the warning signs you’re consuming too much sugar, so you can change your diet and minimize your risk of type 2 diabetes.
These are the seven warning signs you’re eating too much sugar:
1. Frequent urination
2. Excess thirst and dry mouth
3. Hunger between meals
4. Blurred vision
5. Irritability
6. Fatigue-even after sleep
7. Genital itching
Healthy Keto and intermittent fasting are the best things you can do to avoid sugar, curb cravings, and minimize your risk of insulin resistance. Check out my other videos to learn more about keto and intermittent fasting.

On the 24th of December it will be 2 months sugar free for me. I feel so much better physically and mentally, and I have lost some weight too despite not watching my calories too much. Thank you Dr Berg by helping me immensely with your amazing videos. For me it's all or nothing - sugar is so addictive that I can't just eat in moderation. It's much easier to not eat it at all.

As a former pre diabetic I came close, then said to myself "thats it, I'm doing this right now no suger loaded drinks and food". It was surprisingly easy to stop and I drink lemon water everyday and slowly dropping the weight I've gone down 2 clothes sizes in the last few months, I don't miss what I used to snack on at all.

90% sounds like a great number, however candida will seek out every bit of that last 10% and live on. 90% is a great accomplishment, however giving up that last 10% will cause even greater success and improvement in more areas of your body. You will notice that by going to 100% your body will continue to repair and improve. Candida albicans is a very sly opponent. Do not allow it to lurk in the dark recesses by continuing to feed it. Root it out completely!! Praying for you to be 100%!
@Leonhart_93
@Leonhart_93 2 жыл бұрын
@@lorirode-off763 If you consume 10% of the sugar others consume for your whole life, there shouldn't be absolutely any significant health risks, the human body is not that fragile. The excess is what kills you, at low values the insulin is normal and not nearly enough to cause issues. In fact I think it's good for the body to experience all kinds of nutrients instead of getting used to only one. For example we were not "designed" to never eat fruits in our whole life. His case is problematic just because he abused the sugar for 20 years.

@@Leonhart_93 anyone who has been consuming massive amounts of 'sugars' for decades will be doing battle against candida albicans overgrowth. This yeast, aka fungus, is notorious for symptoms such as arthritis, fatigue, mental fog, memory loss, cancer, fungal infections, MS, Lupus, etc..., severely debilitating symptoms and death. I know, because I was on the edge of death from this very issue. If you want it gone, you must avoid all 'sugars' for a minimum of 7 days, however 14 days is ideal. Try it.

I knew someone that drank about 6 cups of coffee with cream and sugar. Double double. They were over weight and depressed and a list of other health problems. One day I took a bowl out of the cupboard and put in it 12 heaping tsp of sugar in it. Then I said would you eat this, he said no that's bad for you. I said well that's your 6 cups of coffee. Sometimes a visual makes the person think.

About 10 years ago, I developed candida overgrowth in my intestinal tract. I found a 'candida diet' and got started because I was beginning to have urgent diarrhea attacks. First week was absolutely no carbs and that was VERY HARD TO DO. I would wander around my house looking for cookies, candy, etc. but I understood that the candida die-off was causing the sugar cravings so I would feed it. It didn't win. Finally got through that stage and started feeling SO much better! Lost about 25 pounds in about 5-6 weeks without exercising! I looked and felt 15 years younger; my co-workers noticed the change and wanted to know how I did it. But here's the thing -- I have a sugar ADDICTION. Like any other addiction, you should never get too confident about your ability to just try a little sugar and stop. After about a year of this, I fell off the wagon a little at a time and now need to lose 50 pounds. Soooo, my goal is to start 2022 right and get off the sugar train once and for all. My family is a long line of home bakers and, I guess unfortunately, we are good at it LOL! But I can bake for others once in a while. I remember that I used to bake for others and just smelling those aromas used to satisfy my cravings to eat those goods. Strange....

Since I'm doing keto I notice that I don't need my glasses anymore (mid twenties). I used to eat loads of sugar daily as a youngster up to 1 year ago. I have about -1.25 glasses to see at a distance. This explains it all. Also, the horrible red eyes, burn/sandy feeling, tearing up etc.. disappear once fat resistant. My eyes are extremely bright now and not red but white! Many other side effects such as brainfog etc are gone too. All thanks to Dr. Berg! You are a true doctor and lifesaver!

I sincerely hope people pay attention to the information you have given in this video. The world is steeped in a diet of highly processed foods, high carbs, sugary foods and snacks, and sweetened drinks and beverages of all kinds. Diabetes is rampant on a global basis, and people are not being given the right advice when it comes to diet and nutrition. The worst part of it is how difficult it is for many people to give up the bad foods that are making them fat and sick. Food has become their master, so they give in to cravings and the many temptations that surround them. Younger people are becoming diabetics, and unwilling to give up sodas and junk foods. I hope your message reaches more and more people throughout the world, and thanks for what you do for humanity.

It’s so important for us to share this information with others, sometimes it takes a while for them to actually start the learning process with Dr. Berg. My Aunt is now watching, she thought she had hypoglycemia but not insulin resistance. I’m trying to help her understand it’s the same thing I used to think I only had hypoglycemia as well. She has to eat all the time for energy. She finally dug in and is watching his videos and in January she is ready to go for it! It’s a good feeling to be able to help people you love to get it! I’m now working on a friend she’s tough to budge, she doesn’t want another fad diet, I’m not giving up. 😂 I’m going to annoy her periodically until she starts educating herself because I love her.

This had been my life for 15+ years. I feel stuffed when I eat small amount but then am hungry 20 minutes later. I'm constantly thirsty and feel exhausted. After I eat I feel comatose. I easily get shaky, sweaty and nauseous if I go too long without eating. I beat drug addiction 7 years ago but am now trying hard to beat my sugar addiction that I feel is stealing my health and life. I also can't have just a little and try to stop all added sugar. I feel so much better but have a hard time getting past 1-2 weeks. My mom just got diagnosed diabetic and I'm already starting to feel neuropathy like she has had for years in her feet and legs. I'm so saddened by my lack of health in my 30s. Thank you for all the true health information and motivation Dr. I don't want to go the Western way and be on a ton of meds and sick.

This video is an absolute EYE OPENER. We consume far too much sugar & salt. The one solution which has worked for me is to drastically reduce wheat/rice & replace it with Millets and to have healthy protein with fats (oily Fish, meat, cheese,etc) and vegetables with fibre. And moderate exercise with strength & endurance training. Trust me, it's life changing. I am healthier at 55 than I was in my 30s & 40s.

In August 2020 I watched your video about cutting out sugar, and checked how much added sugar I was consuming: around 100g per day! I was horrified and changed my diet to cut it right down. I'm now averaging less than 10g per day, have lost 12 kg, 9cm off my waist and my BMI is below 25 again. It's also rare now for me to have to get up during the night to pee, so I'm sleeping better as well. Thank you so much for your advice and everything you do to promote good health. 👏👏

@@gracecotton9819 No, just added sugar. The food labelling in the UK is pretty thorough and almost always says something like: 'Carbohydrates _x_ grams, of which sugars _y_ grams.' @@ceejay0137 Thanks. My main 'target' is to get my insulin back on track. It is obviously much better than it used to be, but I think, when you are a bit older, these things can take more time. Thanks Dr Berg for sharing all this knowledge. I’ve been a big fan for a few years now. I got back on keto in February when I had hit my peek weight of 220. Being only 5’3.5 that was a lot of weight on me. Most didn’t think I was that heavy because I was proportionate. I’m down to 166 now with just 26 more to go to be at my goal weight. I’ve been having hot flashes, mood swings, difficulty sleeping etc. so I got my hormones checked. Turns out my testosterone was too high, estrogen and progesterone too low. And my cortisol levels were also too high at night and too low in the mornings. Adrenals were very low too. So I’ve started taking adrenal supplements, cortisol supplements, d3 with k2 and flaxseed oil. I also switched working out in the evening vs the morning. I also started wearing an eye slip cover at night. Hopefully over the next 2 months I will be able to get my hormones in balance and these last 26 pounds will fall off.

Agree.Same in Europe.Doctors only really measure fasting blood sugar.I.find it amazing that they don't test people for insulin resistance instead of diabetes. For the first time in 12 years I have energy. Inflamation in my gur and esophagus has subsided. I know it will be a steady long road to recovery, but countless doctors and an endocrinologist just added and added meds. I knew I needed to heal. Thank you so much for sharing information. Over the years I've tried to change my diet several times but always fall back into old habits. So far this has been my most successful attempt. First I started exercising more. For me that's skateboarding to get my pulse up to Maximum. 187ish then rest a minute or two and hit it again. Monitoring my pulse while skating is new to me. Got a Garmin watch for that. It's fun collecting data. Getting back into a old hobby I quit years ago gave me something to focus on. Now I have a guitar and rocksmith to learn how to play when I'm stuck indoors. Anything to keep my mind and self occupied instead of snacking out of boredom. After that I just in the last week or two cut ADDED sugar to little to none during the day. I've had small amounts a couple of the days. It's even in my favorite beef jerky 🤦‍♂️. Eventually I'd like to keep it at none. I also cut caffeine. A lot easier as it's not added to just about everything I usually ate prior to making the changes. I even cut alcohol for now. I use to be the any reason to celebrate kinda guy but have decided to keep it to one or two drinks on rarer occasions that actually call for celebration. Getting back into skateboarding seems to be the thing that helped me most. What you do as a hobby is going to differ from person to person but a hobby that gets you moving I'd highly recommend to help those giving up the drugs(refined sugars, caffeine, alcohol). I've been a sugar addict since before my earliest memories. I came from a family that use to live on soda and sugary foods. I guess some of them still do. And they don't mean to change it. Caffeine I've been addicted to since I started drinking soda. Which would have been at a really young age. 3 - 6 ? I don't really know when they started giving me my own soda. Other times I've tried to quit the cravings and withdrawals were too much for me. This time has been different. It's been over a week for sure and the withdrawals and cravings have been very mild at times and almost non existent most of the time. Keep your mind occupied on other things and it may make it much easier to meet your goals. Best of luck to all those struggling with these addictions. Your body is your temple. Respect it the best you can.

Slowly but surely my sugar, carbs and caffeine intake increased more and more. Yes I have noticed I'm peeing all night long and more often throughout the day. Also I've been noticing that I am craving cold cold water. Normally I'm good with drinking it at room temperature. Irritated?? Oh my! Question, when I do prolonged fasting, 48h-72h+. Is Lemon water with a Sea salt okay to drink basically throughout the entire fast or just partially with ''normal'' water? And for other supplements such as vitamin B, D & Cod liver oil, do I stop taking these supplements completely during the fasting period? Thank you!
@LegitVeggies
@LegitVeggies 2 жыл бұрын
Never in a hundred years would I have thought to see you on this channel. Been supporting FaZe since modern warfare 2 days. Also to partially answer your question, when doing a fast you don't want to ingest anything that raises your insulin levels. Cod liver oil would definitely raise your insulin resulting in the benefits of your fast being diminished. Try your best for the first 72 hours of the fast to ingest nothing but water (lemon water is ok) and salt. I would stay away from the vitamins because certain vitamins can break your fast, while other vitamins will not break your fast. But regardless, taking supplements on an empty stomach wouldn't be the best course of action for a long fast. Try to stick with the simples during your prolonged fast (water, salt, black coffee, apple cider vinegar, black/green tea).

Hi!👋🏻 Thanks for this info! My friends notice these symptoms and automatically think that I'm diabetic, but I have Sjogrens Syndrome and Rheumatoid Arthritis (and more) which share symptoms of diabetes. I've been clean of drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes for 17 years. I hit the gym hard for 10 of those years until my arthritises knocked me down BAD. Now I do lots of walking. Since I'm middle aged and have a couple of diabetics in the family, I cut my sodas from every day to two per week. I eat whole wheat high fiber/protein bread, brown rice, and incorporate more veggies herbs and spices into my home-cooked meals. Yes, sugar is still a thing, but not near as much as it was 20-30 yrs ago. This journey is a slow, steady set of improvements over time which I and my body feel great about 🎊💞 Hope you and everyone have a BLESSED DAY 🫂❤
