The far-right leaders of Hungary and Poland rejected a symbolic EU statement on irregular migration as a summit of European leaders came to a close. Hungarian PM Viktor Orban and his Polish counterpart Mateusz Morawiecki rejected a proposed statement during the summit's conclusion on October 6. The Polish PM echoed Orban’s claim, saying Poland definitely rejects this for “the security of our country”. The bloc of European nations has remained divided over how to address irregular migration.
