Great vid as usual Scott. One of the main issues in this test, is that the Lego's looked to be in equally spaced stacks, as opposed to being layered in opposite directions. I don't think that giant brick had anywhere near the structural integrity it could have had.

Scott, actually you should do an experiment to find out what kind of everyday stuff around the house needs the least thickness to stop a Brass Solid 416 Rigby. I think every time we saw this round in action it went through everything. I have to say it seems to have better penetration abilities than a 50 BMG which is an absurd assumption. But at least we have already seen a 50 BMG getting stopped.

Actually you're correct,the brass solid flat-nosed bullets of the elephant calibers do penetrate softer targets such as flesh,bone,water,wood,ballistic gel,far better than a 50bmg especially if the 50bmg is a regular FMJ,and the 375 H&H Magnum will out penetrate the 416 Rigby due to its smaller diameter and higher sectional density. The Spitzer design bullet concentrates all of its energy on the tip of the bullet and the bullet starts to spin sideways when it enters the target and thus fail to penetrate in a straight line and usually veer-off of the target.That is why the elephant calibers have a flat or round nose bullet so it keeps on drilling in a straight line. That said the elephant calibers don't even come close to the 50BMG when it comes to penetrating hard armor such as steel and ceramics.
@jeffshootsstuff
@jeffshootsstuff Жыл бұрын
I'm guessing the off-brand flats that don't interlock had a lot to do with it here. If they lock together they basically become a solid block of plastic. As it is there is a thin sheet of plastic separated by air between each layer.

Always making my days better and full of smiles ☺️ I think shooting old speakers would be cool for the 700 Nitro. Like the old 3-6 ft tall box speakers with the tweeter, midrange and bass in it!

Been there, done that. Small hole in front, slightly bigger hole in the back. If you hit a magnet, it might fly along out the back, but nothing spectacular at all. Not even close to Scott-worthy.

The genuine LEGO baseplates don’t connect to each other, either. This was so awesome! Be careful walking around there barefoot haha! Great content as always, much love from Texas!
@ABaumstumpf
@ABaumstumpf Жыл бұрын
Aaaaand at least i found the comment. Yeah - BASE-plates do NOT stack. They are only meant as the base of a construction and are a thinner plastic than normal bricks and have a different height, and are the largest single pieces in Lego with up to 50x50 studs (normal "large" plates are 32x32). Normal plates on the other hand do stack and are a lot sturdier, but also way thicker and only go up to 16x16 in size - so just a quarter of a normal baseplate.

Also not being mentioned is the fact that Scott bought off brand Lego copy. Those are SIGNIFICANTLY lower quality plastic, not to mention that since the base plates didn’t lock together, they lose some of the structural integrity.
