I've had a MSA 220 for 3 years - cut lots of firewood and even small timber with it. Awesome and handy little saw. Still have my old 260 for bigger jobs though - no saw is perfect for everything! Tool for the job...

Mike something I use to mark trees for cutting is a long handle walk behind spray paint marker. I just added a 1/4 inch rod that slide through a hole I put through the handle. All you need to do is start at one end or the other and touch the paint button and your length is marked without bending over. Gary.

Some friends bought a battery operated DeWalt chain saw. At first I thought "That can't be any good", but I was wrong! Amazing little saw. Battery lasts a long time. No cord pulling over and over again until you are worn out, just squeeze the trigger. Let off and it quits while you are walking around too.

I have noticed that you and many other people make their forecut and then make the notch cut from the top. I was taught by my dad to cut the notch out below the forecut. He had 2 reasons. (1) you didn't end up loosing board length from a big notch being cut out of the butt log,, and (2) it was a much safer way to fell a tree.. As the tree begins to fall the butt of the tree drops down into the notch and can not kick back off the backside of the stump. I noticed that Buckin Billy always under cuts his notches also.--------------------------Loren

Just don't underestimate the danger factor that still exists. Though they spin slower, those have a lot of torque, and might lull some folks into thinking they are safer or almost toylike. A real good feature of the Stihl battery saw is the chain brake - stops turning quickly after releasing the trigger. Most battery electrics like the Echo don't have that.

The electric is definitely easier on the ears. I ran too many big old chainsaws over the years without any hearing protection and now I regret it. Mike, maybe you should do a video on hearing protection options if you haven’t already. The ear muffs really held in a lot of Summer heat so I wear plugs in the Summer now.

That is impressive. Thank you Mike and Melissa for another great video. Brent is doing great and on his way to a full recovery! Mike , Melissa did not say she wanted to play pool she said she wanted to play in the pool" My brother and I own a Shipping company and we move nothing but farm and construction equipment...we can have a backhoe over there as soon as the ground gets softer and start digging that pool footprint! "Have a Day" Quote of the day: Life is about change, we are in constant movement like shifting sands. It is by choice, not chance, that we determine our own destiny. The road may sometimes seem long, but we need to remember that it is also wide. It has been said that "a long journey begins with but a single step" If you don’t like where you are at in life you have the choice to change. "You owe it to yourself." It all begins with a single step! ~ George Wheeler
