72 Hours With iPhone 12 Pro Max - I've CHANGED My Mind! This video is my official unboxing and full detailed impressions and in-depth review of the brand new Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max pacific blue, that has just launched, and vs comparison with the iphone 12 Pro Gold. No charger in the retail box, but Apple do offer a brand new MagSafe Wireless charging feature sold separately for £39. 6.7" OLED display with a resolution of 1284 x 2778 pixels. It does unfortunately only come with a 60hz refresh rate display, so no 120hz pro motion, that was rumoured and the battery is smaller at 3687 mAh in comparison with the iphone 11 pro max. iOS 14.1 out the box, with new widgets and app library features as well as picture in picture and smart stack, are new to the software this year! Minimum storage of 128GB is nice to see, as is the upgraded ram to 6GB from 4GB vs the iphone 11 pro. Dolby Vision HDR video, with up to 4K @ 60fps and the photos using the triple 12MP camera setup is great, and photos have seen software improvements also, for quicker focussing etc. Ultra Wide angle and telephoto lenses join the primary and the Lidar sensor also! The camera is overall better on paper vs the 12 Pro, but I am not sure it performs necessarily much better in everyday use, as you will see in the camera comparison in this video. 5G will help with gaming, VR and AR as will the A-14 Bionic chip, which is insane, as can be seen from benchmark results! Video soon vs the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and S20 Ultra and Pixel 5 etc! The iPhone 12 Pro Max is the most capable phone Apple have released this year, but is it the best option for most people? I am not so sure, as I elaborated on in the video!

@@photopsthe2nd537 well that really depends on the phone you choose, if you go with stock android or pixel device with higher refresh rate, its more smoother experience than iOS. And for "good" for some folks iOS is good and for others android is good, that depends on their usage and their preference.

Just jumped from iPhone 7 + to iPhone 12 Pro Max, and I’m happy with it TBH. Don’t spend much on phones every year, so it’s worth it in my opinion! My next iPhone ? Maybe iPhone 15 or 16 😂

@@mona9464 I did the same thing actually. Really miss the size of the 7+. I actually returned my pro max for a pro. Pro max was too big (I have normal size hands for a male) and felt like a chore to carry around. Kinda regret buying a new phone because it’s not THAT much different. Of course the camera is better but eh not enough to spend a grand if you don’t need to.

Switched from my OnePlus6t to the 12 pro max. This is my first iPhone since the 3gs. I absolutely love this. It does the same thing but just more elegantly, it feels luxurious. I’m really glad I got this phone.

@@junaidfaruk1468 yea it does fit in my pockets, I have to say it is a bit tight but yes it does for. And I did get a case specifically an otter box case from the apple store. I definitely wouldn’t suggest having it without a case

Thank you for the review. AND you have only convinced me to go for max. Since I own an Apple watch, I don't need to pull out my phone to answer a call outside or switch between songs for example, and I AM happy using 2 hands to type. I enjoy a big screen, and for its width especially.

I have the 12 pro coming tomorrow! I will me moving from the 11pro max....the ultimate decision maker for me was the size... normally I like the biggest phone, but the 12 pro max is just too big for my hands. @asbyt totally agree with what you said. We shouldn't be going backwards. I have used both apple and Android phones. And most of the time, I switch from one to another is because they did something unnecessary. So it kinda felt like two steps forward, one step back ....

Great update review & very helpful! I use both Galaxy S series and iPhones depending on life situation- iPhone X for times when I'm swamped in work- best choice for me for getting stuff done right the first time reliably. I switch to Galaxy Android in the months when I'm idling- my fave for media entertainment "me time". Love BOTH droid & iOS systems. Right now Im soaking up your vids on beloved Galaxy S8+. I'm anxious for S21 release! If S21 doesnt wow, iPhone 12 pro standard will be next in pocket.

I just wish you could split screen/multi app and there was some kind of pencil support. I know they won’t but I’d love to see a built in stylus like the note line. Note line is great.

LMAO bro nope both of you are wrong. If you care to researcg a bit , tge screens themselves ARE IN FACT 120 HZ CAPABLE BUT they were not able to manufacture enough chips to change the refresh rate by using an LTPO display which otherwise would suck batteryvlife

Okay so here is my opinion and yours may differ; for the $100 US, I would say that it would easily be worth it to spring for the Pro Max if you can because when you spend that much on a phone, $100 is actually not bad to get better features and a larger display.

@Johnny Bravo do you have one of the new A14 Apple devices? I have an iPad pro 512... Doesn't feel different at all. My mom has a the 12 Pro... also says it doesn't feel any different, and that's what she likes about it. She literally says she likes apple cause she's old and doesn't want anything new or any dramatic changes... And before you talk down on my moms opinion... she was the Buying Manager and an executive for Wal-mart Africa. She's now an executive for a privately owned on-line store. This is kinda her line of work... she also hangs out with CEO's for tech companies in China like Hisense and has been to the factories there...

This is exactly what I was wondering. I have the 8 Plus currently and people were really making it seem like this one was like a tablet, lol. It's interesting though because when I first got the 8 Plus, I had a hard time holding it but over time I got used to it so i'm sure the same will happen with this one!

I got all of the 12’s to try. I’m liking the mini for the simple fact it’s able to be used in one hand. The 12 pro is ok but slightly to big with the max way to big.

I just got the Pro Max, primarily in the absence of a top end Pixel and Google's act of self mutilation in killing GPM and trying to force people to use YT Music which is absolutely trash. Music is the most important use I make of my phone. I can live with it (iPhone 12 Pro Max) but do miss the customisations and intuitiveness of android. Whether I can live with it long term remains to be seen so hedging my bets by not selling my Note 20 Ultra. Not totally new to the iPhone, had all of them from the first iPhone through to the iP6 Plus but I have always had a foot in both camps.

@@photopsthe2nd537 I spent YEARS with android devices and everyone always says they prefer android over iOS because of the customization they have, yet when I look at their phone, it’s a SD version of a Samsung Galaxy phone (might as well be the Apple of Android) and all they have done is put the apps they use the most on their homepage and changed the wallpaper. Oh yeah, REAL customization. IMHO, 99% of consumers should just get an iPhone. You want customization? Then learn how to root your device, oh wait you can’t do that with a SD version of a Samsung device. How about any android device outside of Samsung? But heck when even OnePlus, has gone from “ iPhone/ Flagship killer” status, to Samsung copycat...like almost everyone else aside from Google’s pixel line, what can you expect??? People say they want customization, but when the VAST majority of users can’t even be bothered to install a 3rd party launcher from the play store, in the name of customization, people don’t want what they think they want. They want a Samsung device full of bloat ware, gimmicky features that never work half the time, (owned two separate Samsung devices from two different software generations) and want candy crush preinstalled ready to go out the box, 😂. But hey, they can customize it right??? 😂😂😂😂😂

I upgraded from a iPhone X and bought the 12 pro max and I got used to the bigger screen in a few days and I will never go back. The bigger screen is just a joy to use. The small phone looks like a toy now. The screen, battery and performance on the 12 pro max is excellent. At the end of a work day I’m still left with 50% battery with a screen on time of 6 1/2 hours that’s amazing!

Watching this on my new 12 Pro Max which I absolutely love! Am coming from 11 Pro and really appreciate the larger screen and the 2.5x lens. The new square sides are really comfortable and feel premium too. I think my favourite iPhone ever.

Love the videos I am android user all my life and I have a lot off google devices speakers cameras etc Would like to go iphone but I am undecided on iphone pro max or the Samsung Galaxy s21 ultra. What you're opinions.

Great review thank you! I went from iPhone 7+ a couple of years ago to the samsung galaxy S10+ and REGRET it deeply. I went over for the camera functions and my galaxy is SO slow now and battery drains so fast I am sick of it! I'm going back to the iPhone and going for the x max. It's the same size pretty much as my s10+ so the size doesn't bother me. SO bored of waiting for it to arrive though!

You're wrong about 120hz not being here for costs reasons. The screens actually are 120hz capable, they've paid the prenium for it. And sharper shots when zooming comes from megapixels, not sensor size.

I got the 12 pro max. I’m a huge fan of phones with huge screens. But it’s definitely a learning curve if you’re wanting to use the usb c and msg safe. If you’re wanting to use mag safe you need to get cases that are compatible with mag safe . The case I got is a full body case so I don’t like it for mag safe and it covers my bottom firing speaker. It’s not something I’d use every day except if I’m going to the pool or something where I know there will be water.

Several months later after having picked the 12 Pro Max, I’m now trying the 12 Pro. I love most things about the Pro Max, but the inability to do almost anything with one hand even with a pop socket on the case is a huge pain, and the fact that Apple doesn’t take advantage of the larger screen to allow more app icons across or multitasking cerca 2012 on Android is really annoying, and make the larger screen only really useful when watching movies. I can watch movies on my iPad. We’ll see how the 12 Pro battery holds up. That is one area where the Max is an absolute beast.

I’m still on the fence. I’ve learned to really enjoy the 12 Pro. But no question it’s battery is terrible compared to the Max. Most days I have to charge it mid-day at least once for a couple of minutes. With the 12 Pro Max I could last until day 2.

I returned my max. Sadly it caused pain on my fingers and hand from holding it. I think the weight combined with a brick size was the issue for me. Got the pro and loving it so far. As for the camera I really can’t tell a difference 😐

Just ordered a 12 pro max. I've used Samsung for the last 7+ years, felt it was time for an iPhone seeing as Samsung keeps shorting the eu market of the good chip. I'm excited to try iPhone, can't wait!

Oof, you will miss quite a bit of features. AOD & higher refresh rate as well as usbc charging. Apple also does not include a charging brick. You get a 25 watt charging brick out of the box with Samsung. I would have either gone with a Pixel 5 or waited for Samsung's new Exynos 2100 that will replace the inferior 990. The 2100 will be on the S21 series and it is rumored to be neck & neck with the Snapdragon 875 or possibly better.

@@FoxytrotUniform currently using a S9+ so I'm running 60 Hz here aswell. Of course there is a difference if you put it next to a 120 hz phone but otherwise it doesn't really show. Plus even if the new chip is as good as snapdragon, the iPhone chip is still better

I've stuck behind Apple pretty much since the creation of " smart phones". the last iphone that I've truly owned was the 8 model, but have sinced owned the S20+ and now the Note 20 Ultra, it is aligned among very few mobile manufactures that offer more bang for your buck. You are obviously not going to notice a difference of refresh rate based on your average consumer, but there are significant differences between the two

It's only 20 watts, thats not super fast, so there is no problem, it's just the normal 5 watt charger sucks and is the slowest in the universe....

After using my friends 12 pro max for a bit today I cancelled my order, getting the 12 pro instead. The bigger screen on the max is amazing but the strain on my palm and thumbs isn’t worth it, they should have kept it the same size as the 11 pro max.

I wanted nothing less than the 12 Pro Max. I went to the store on release day, held it in hand for 10 seconds and immediately bought the 12 Pro. Unusable with one hand.
