"BJ's pretty good at this" BJ plus our beloved swamp rolls, they must be great!

When I was younger my grandparents owned a beautiful ranch on the Rio Grande River. We made custom catfish bait. We would go hunt rabbits and mix the meat and guts with blood bait, minnow, cornstarch to thicken it up and some other stuff that I can’t remember. We would let it sit mixed up for 6 months or so. When you opened the container the stink that came out of that jug was just awful. We learned real fast you had to use gloves to bait hook’s because that stink would stay on your hands for days no matter what you used. Anyway it didn’t matter what we fished with-jugs, trot line or pole we always caught catfish and the biggest catfish that I’ve ever seen. I can’t remember the lengths or weights but I remember my grandmother took a picture of a catfish we caught held next to my 9 year old cousin and it was longer than he was tall. Great times and great memories just wish I could remember the entire mix we used to make our bait that we affectionately called “Rotten P*$$* Stink Bait” you can figure out the rest of the name.
