72V Sur Ron High SPEED Rip to Hollywood Sign (didn't go as planned)

On my 3rd voyage to the Hollywood sign on the 72v Sur Ron electric bike I give it a go for a much faster average speed knowing there's not a huge concern for battery range at slower speeds (like in my previous 72v battery range test ride linked below). Turns out it was supppper busy by the sign so I could not safely go all the way to the top on this ride, but the trip made for some interesting data as I push the Sur Ron Chi 72v battery for electric bikes quite a bit harder than last time.
The electric bike motor still held up totally fine at these higher speeds, but the Sur Ron range was much more of a concern on the 72v chi battery upgrade. Next time I want to bring my big charger and find certain access to a electric bike charging point so I can truly rip the 72v chi battery for the Sur Ron all the way down to the end of it's tank and see what kind of speed/time record I can acheive on ride #4 out here. Should we make this a competition? Playa vista to Hollywood sign speed record on electric bike?

Look into heated gear! Amazon has some amazing jackets and vest. Just look up heated vest or jacket the jacket to get is the *dewbu* only like 140 keeps me warm in down to 15° with hand mits. 8mile trip.

@@JuicedJoyrides heated gear is a game changer. Lol I lost my licenses stuck on a bike I started with a vest it worked so great I figured why not try a jacket with heated sleeves it's amazing. Let's me ride not only warm but sometimes actually hot 🔥 when it's 20° out and in doing 30-40mph on a bike. Also amazing for running nitro r.cs or DJI drones during the winter. Was going to get heated gloves after seeing how much they are went with mittens on the bike very cozy lol but did pick up a cheap cotton set off Amazon for like $15 not good for riding without bar mittens but great for regular outdoor stuff. Plus have e-hand warmes did use the zippo fluid filled warmer for the last few years but the wick burnt out so I went electric this year they freaking amazing 😍

yo can you have different power setting on the eggrider? and just like switch between them real quick?

Yes, there is two modes you can toggle between, and each mode you can have set up with different power modes as well as adjust from 1-9 on the fly

Barely before the rain started, slower pace but it’s much easier getting back because it’s all downhill the whole way. I was looking for places to charge near Hollywood but wasn’t able to find one again :/

@@JuicedJoyrides I have the Kabbo matins. I have 7 spills in 4 months. I am an adrenaline junkie rider thou who goes fast, hard and at times a lil reckless for NYC. I am getting the Sur Ron for my daily now, and leaving the e scooter for joy rides. Daily driving the fast 40mph+ scooter's fast, your bound to fall a few times

Thanks for another great video - you don't realize how much you *don't* miss wind noise until you get an action video that has it; production while doing stuff is actually hard to do on your own. I have a question, maybe this is a good place to leave it: Has anyone here tried installing any type of PEV apps on any type of smartwatch?

Thanks dude, it took a minute to get the setup dialed, but this works pretty well. GoPro batteries recording at 4k 60fps are awful 😆 but makes for some good footage Compared to the 1080 30fps I was doing before. Properly placed external mic makes all difference. No idea on the smartwatch pev setup.

You should get the greenline engineering dongle so you can use their far superior dashboard app and get rid of that crappy overcomplicated eggrider setup

On and off the sidewalk, high speeds in close proximty of pedestrians, weaving through traffic, wheelies on the road, all reasosn why cops give ebikers trouble and why ultimately there is going to be heavier legislation. Perhaps it looks worse than it is in reality but this type of riding is not doingthe industry any favours. I hope that the bike I invested in doesn't get outlawed. Sorry to be a downner but I would be very upset if someone riding like this ran into my wife, kid or dog.

Is there an alternative to get to that location in any sort of reasonable commute time? I'm not going to descend into shaming or "whataboutism" (speaking of gas and other riders as well as drivers that misbehave, in all places, Hollywood, CA); let's be practical/pragmatic about this. Disclaimer: I'm handicapped and when I can go places I do it on a Fat Tad CXS which takes up way more lane space than anything on two wheels. I run it at the skate park and BMX track. Say what you will but access shouldn't be denied people whether or not they're able; it should be open to who uses it better. And for the record, maybe keep your kid, wife, and dog *all* on a tighter leash if they're strolling around in Hollywood on their own and can't handle serious urban existence. It's not a matter of device but location. You might want to stay away from Austin, NYC, San Diego, and probably Seattle.

Great opinion and sure in principle I agree. But bike life is way to big to even put a dent in. Damage has already been done it's just a matter of time now. Also ebike laws are already very restrictive and fierce just as of now it's like jaywalking a real law that's there for a reason but gets overlooked everyday. But in Pa a class 3 ebike is throttle assist only and can only go up to 21mph if you're license is suspended you can only operate a class 1. If you you're bike does not meet the requirements they can confiscate it from you and keep it on top of some very big fine's since it's considered a off-road vehicle like a dirt bike
