Things changed when the Bullets got Bobby D, Bob Dandridge. Also underrated as hell.

That 1978 Finals is when I started my 45 years (so far) watching the NBA.

He went toe to with Kareem in his prime and gave up 4 or 5 inches in height and did well. Was a beast!

Not to mention that both went at it in college basketball between UCLA and Houston. First in the Astrodome in "The Game of the Century" in 1968, where Houston won that one 71-68 and later in the NCAA Tournament where Elvin Hayes got humbled (after he ran his mouth way too much claiming that he was the greatest player of all time) by UCLA and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar where they lost 101-69.

Elvin Hayes was listed as 6'9" but always seemed to be eye to eye with players listed as 6'7".

He was my favorite player in high school, and his turn around jump shot is something I copied and used in high school basketball. Of course nothing like his, but effective.

I was at the game of the century and saw him block Alcindor on a hook shot. I had never seen that before or since.

Shaun Powell is grasping at straws. Unseld was not a "rim protector" or a low post guy. E was the shot blocker and low post threat on those teams, Wes was a high post player and a great passer/def. rebounder.

So where do you have Tim Duncan, Dirk, and Kevin Mchale?
@PIP...33 Жыл бұрын
@@warnamir7434 DID DUNCAN CARRY TEAM ALONE LIKE BARKLEY ANY YEAR OR HE PLAYED IN ADMIRALS FRANCHISE ?? OR LIKE KG CARRY 11 SEASONS FROM HIS 13 IN SOLID WOLVES ?? NOWITZKI HAD 2 SUPERSATARS FINLEY AND NASH. MCHALE HAD 3 OR 4 HOF.

@@PIP...33 I also can agree bout KG and Malone especially knowing their rosters. Tho Karl had really nice roster in early 90's where Malone and him and Stockton could win it all. I still to this day say that Jazz 3 headed monster was better than weak Jazz 97, 98. Malone was strongest guard in NBA able to score in post are or from 3. Mailman best PF no doubt. John like always was beast. But u need to remember Barkley in Suns didnt had 2nd HOF. He still carry roster to finals. I know KJ is underrated should be more ranked but he is not HOF John Stockton. As for Duncan dude had the Admiral GOAT level center from day 1 guy who can score 70 pts in sleep. While Garnett played with Dean Garrett who cant average 6 ppg LOL.
