"Pistol" Pete Maravich was a dazzling dribbler, a flashy passer and a 5-time All-Star during his 10-year NBA career.

My favorite player to watch ever. Imagine what he could do today with the 3 point line.

Fun fact, with todays new three point line, Pistol would have averaged 13 made threes a game in college. Which means his scoring average would be 50+. That’s just insane, especially back then

I don't think he would of shot as much with a 3pt line

It's awesome how much Dave Bing has to say about so many of his competitors of the 60s and 70s.

Bing is right there with Maravich and Frazier. I saw him. Kareem called him the best guard in the game when he came in with Milwaukee.

Imagine playing against or seeing Pistol Pete Maravich when he played high school ball for Raleigh Broughton. Pete's skill level was so far beyond those of any other high school player in North Carolina or anywhere else in the US that it was jaw dropping to see somebody like Pete. His high school team may not have been as talented overall as Enloe with Randy Denton or Fayetteville with Rusty Clark but every time out Pete put on a show. Of course, Pete was a showman at every level of basketball and had fans on the edge of their seats. 👏🔥

You had to see him, to believe it! What draw me to Pete was he was from Louisiana (LSU) my parents home state. He seemed like a simple man with a lot of flair. Amazing player so Thanks for this video! Mic'22

Pistol was magic before magic like pistol can do things with the ball that will leave you thinking"Did i just see him do that" Magic comes and does the no look passes and whatnot i can imagine he took pieces of pistol and mixed it with magic talent and voila you got magic.

His Father had him drilling for hours, daily. Apparently he fought a lot of Demons in his Life and ultimately transitioned to the next plane while playing Basketball with some Preachers I used to listen on on the Radio. let JJ Reddick and Gilbert Arenas tell it though... He would have had trouble cracking a Division 1 Lineup in College.

Pete had the unfortunate luck to be traded to an expansion team during his prime.

He forced it. His drinking and rumored drug use got bad in Atlanta. It was said that no team wanted him so the NBA created a franchise for him.

@@davanmani556yeah. Love pistol, but Coach Cotton Fitzsimmons had enough and gave management the ultimatum. Similar to David Thompson in Denver a few years later. When DT was sent to Seattle.

Did that dude just say that the NCAA leading scorer and number 20 in career average as a pro falls between the Globe Trotters and the And1 tour? Tell me that this guy who never played the game on a level even close to The Pistol just said that. What a 🤡
