We make some changes to our front end to achieve ackerman steering, but more importantly, our CB750 cross kart has FULL POWER. Turns out the spark plugs were bad, which caused almost all of our running issues. K.I.S.S. Keep it simple, stupid! This 750cc go kart RIPS! We take the custom build buggy out for rally drifting!
Thanks for Watching!

Got the motor running RIGHT!! Awesome. Now, back to 4x pod setup. Synchronize them carbs! Decades of superbike motor research can't be all wrong. Good reason people run them motors like that. And oh crap, taller rear wheels, and / or gearing, to handle the horsepower! Good call bending that deathwish shifter shaft. Hate to see one of you lose an eye on a nasty bump. or worse, a camera. :P Loved the shots of grass hanging on the suspension. Fun was had. Glad ya got the motor running halfway now. Compression test, new plugs, change oil, check timing/points, check valve clearance. These things should have been done while the engine was still in the bike....then there wouldn't have been any issues.
@gfg_horseman7159
@gfg_horseman7159 5 жыл бұрын
@@72mardy I mean the compression test, plugs and oil yes, should have all been done at the same time (along with plug wires and coils depending on age). But valve lash? Maybe. Normally I would do the basics and get it fired and running, and if it runs with some valvetrain noise then move on to checking valve lash, or in the case of a duel overhead engine like this one, checking the valve springs and buckets for wear. There normally isn't a way to adjust valve lash on DOHC bike engines, as the cams act directly on the valve springs. So you end up needing to replace or shim the buckets to change valve lash.

Glad to see that you got it running. I thought that it might be something ignition - related. Now, after it's all tuned and carbs are synced, check the plugs again, and make sure the color is light tan on the insulatiors. If not, you might have to go up slightly on the heat range, to keep them burning clean... Oh, yeah...now's the time to finish up with the safety gear. Harnesses, another forward loop for the roll cage, and maybe a new shifter and padding, when you get bounced around.. Now you're messing with enough power to easily get you killed - don't mess around....

Guys, don't feel bad. All of us have been tricked or lead astray by some strange running condition. Many years back, I was totally stumped by a Toyota Corolla that....get this....only stalled, when it SNOWED !!! I'm not shitting you !! It didn't stall when it rained, or if it was hot or cold !!! I tried a coil, a new ignition switch, a new fuel pump, all new fuel lines , a carb, new intake gasket, new plug wires, new plugs, a re-man ECU. Checked the Cat, not blocked. Checked, tightened all the grounds, replaced the battery cables....drove the customers car, for a week !! Ran beautiful ! Delivered it to her..... BUT !!!!!.... as soon as it snowed....the car came back on a hook !!!! Customer states...'cars stalls" !!! I could not figure it out !!! I tried everything !! it happened many times that winter !!!.The lady moved to Florida, drove down....and according to my boss....never had the problem again !!!!!!!!!!! I still....decades later...do not know WTF was wrong with that freakin Corolla !!! So good job guys !! You found yours !! lol.

Dude! You, guys, are making me so jealous for that go-kart... I want to ride that thing so badly knowing that it has soooo much power to it that i am wishing to feel oncee! I'm just 17 and have to go through schools etc. etc. and then when i'll make my life easier to get what i am wishing for, i'll do only one thing = I will search one channel in youtube called "CarsandCameras" and search for a 750cc go-kart build. Also, the reason i think i want to ride that thing so badly is because the fact that i'm a motorcycle rider and i'm in love with powerful and sharp feelings. You guys are the ones that i love watching and i enjoy every video of yours! Wish i knew you earlier when i first found your channel.... :(

New to the channel and loving it. The only improvement I would recommend is better safety gear on you test rides.

I owned a 1978 CB750F with the 4-into-1 headers; it was the first year the Japanese ever built a black engine/bike - some wonky feeling about superstition or something. Anyways, I always thought the engine would make a great go-kart motor and 78 hp stock wasn't bad either! Very well done......keep refining it!

It might be eating up spark plugs from now. Our 250 Kawasaki. Runs just as bad but every time it gets a new plug it runs perfect

Be careful. The recommended plugs for ninja 250 do not work and cause damage to engine. Check forums for best spark plugs to run in the engine.

I've said check the plus in the last couple videos. Glad it was that simple. Also, the 2 middle cylinders are going to keep fouling the plugs because they're getting most of the fuel from the strait runners and the 2 outside are probably running lean.

I'm having the same issue with a 302 I built for my fox body. Old plugs and wires are sparking everywhere but in the cyclinder 🤣😂🤣 at least they're cheap for old Ford's 👍👌👍
