In the late 1980s you can say Group B was a bit further in technology terms then F1. The monsters there used to do 0-100km/h in 2,5secs on any surface. This was a showcase what can be achieved when there no limitations. Too bad it ended so fast

The Audi Quattro was my favourite rally car when I was a child, and even today, its street versions (the original Quattro (200 hp), the limited edition Sport Quattro (306 hp) , and the 1989-91 Quattro 20V (220 hp)) are, together with the 200 quattro and the 200 quattro 20V, my favourite cars in all times. Fire spitting monster generating the deep growl which only comes from the Quattro. There is nothing else like this. And what's more Audi took the Quattro concept to kick ass across the globe. It's still alive today!

Sensational car- high revving 5pot audi motor with anti lag- there is simply nothing on earth that beats that engine note. Saw the last of these rally in the Forest of Dean in the lombard RAC rally in 1985. You could hear the anti-lag for miles and miles. In those days it was raced at night too so all you heard was braaaaap bang braaaap bang bang crackle braaaaaaap then flames as they flew by at 130mph on the forest tracks.
