I agree Panhead49EL Dash cam would be a good idea, I'm pleased to hear that Tim is ok, sounds like very arrogant selfish car drivers in their area.

Im probably one of the few dummies that enjoy being stuck behind slow moving farm equipment . It brings back some of the good memories from the old days.i always stay back far enough for the stupid people in a hurry to pass me then take their chances of passing the tractor or whatever im following . Plus hanging back that far lets the farmer know im in no hurry.plus it gives me more of a chance to enjoy the scenery

Tony Aguilar hey...I'm the same way.we all need to respect an love each other....even on the roads.show respect to the farmers and truck drivers...they are the reason you will be eating dinner tonight.much love from West Virginia.🙏🙏👍👍💪💪💯💯

Had a similar thing happen when I was 16 a few years ago. I stayed out of the ditch, but I had to get new pants. Big jacked up pickup dick head, thought he'd pass me up a blind hill. Three separate skid marks from him, my tractor, and the car, proved our innocence. I'm afraid people will only get worse. I'm in middle of nowhere wisconsin. They're everywhere. Stay safe you guys.

Glad Tim didn't get hurt, That's the important part. Wes I would have to take a really close look at the from axel for damage, Going at hi-way speed and being pushed off the road and hitting a colvert and bouncing may have damaged it. Pickup driver is at fault so he should be paying for all of it not you. Bandit

Dashcam in each tractor is great to catch idiots. There are tool boxes that you can have on the front that functions as a counter weight, and also as a bumper to stop your tire from catching and climbing when you hit some thing/one.

I remember you mentioning liability insurance for an accident you had a while back so I'm wondering if there is insurance available for damage to your equipment. Are you self-insured because the insurance is too expensive?

Out where I live we don't have farmers.. we have the opposite - logging trucks. It is best to get out of their way because they fly, cruising 65 in a 55 just to get those extra 1-2 loads in by the end of the day. I love 'em! Damn good business, damn hard workers and I am more then happy to share the road and give right of way to either farmers or loggers!

Having the same problem in southeast Michigan. People drive to fast for road conditions, and tailgating. You have to be really careful making left turns into the fields too. When you slow down to turn they will try to pass when you turn.
@hturbo10076 жыл бұрын
Dan W not only left turns but right turns also. One day a few years ago my brother was towing some wagons and he needed to turn right, so he had to swing left to get the wagons into the driveway and as he was doing so a car tried to PASS HIM ON THE RIGHT. He almost drove the wagons over the car.

I'm glad Tim is ok...that sucks when you have literally no time to react and that much mass moving at 20mph. Ive had that almost happen to me several times...it blows my mind that people don't slow down when they see huge equipment on the road.

Glad to see Tim is ok and the tractor is fixable. Yes it’s the same here in good old Canada. Everyone is in a super hurry to go now where. Defensive driving is a must to teach our new generation of drivers.
@ih12066 жыл бұрын
Well I'm glad to see Tim is alright. You gotta watch non farm people on the roads, doesn't matter if you're in New Jersey or the middle of Ohio farm country. At least there wasn't any major damage to the tractor. My cousin got in an accident about a year or so ago that wiped the whole front axle off the tractor. Stay safe out there.

@wvrockcrusher6 жыл бұрын
Glad Tim is OK. People need to give these guys some room and respect on the road. Everyone is in too big of a damn hurry in most places or just plain couldn't drive if they had to. Every time I get on the road with a tractor, within minutes I have someone crammed under the ass end wanting to pass where they can't, so I pull off to the side and they go maybe 1/4 mile down the road and turn off. For the life of me I cannot understand what the hell is wrong with people like this. 20 years ago I didn't have much problems at all and now, it's dangerous running tractors and equipment down the road.
@scpd6136 жыл бұрын

Here in Iowa the former Bachelor of the Year, Chris Soules, rear ended a tractor and killed the 66 year old farmer driving it. He then was charged with "hit and run". The case still hasn't come to court and Soules lawyers are fighting the charge. Sadly, the farmer is still deceased, was married, a father of two and grand-father of three, a veteran and well thought of community member. Soules on the other.....meh. I'm thankful that Tim is safe. Machines can be repaired or replaced. People can't.

Glad you are ok Tim, Can always fix or replace things but not always the same goes for humans.
@danielalamo20756 жыл бұрын
I'm glad Tim is okay. And you should see the bad drivers here in California. But on the other hand, some of the big farmers think they own everything and won't let you pass. The small farmers always let people pass. By the way, what is with the anvils. They are worth more than gold here. Small 100 pounders are over $300. I glad I was able to obtain one when I did (I got it at an auction and paid too much ). I hopefully will get my Dad's. Also, no matter how diligent you are about maintenance, something still gets over looked. But that is what winter is for, maintenance.
@Wednesday4u6 жыл бұрын
Should have just stayed in his lane and seen who would have won that battle. My bet is a pickup against a 7810 John Deere has a clear outcome as to who the winner will be. Although then you've gotta stand around on the side of the road waiting for the cops to come and then listen to the guy driving the pickup lie to the cop about how you targeted him on the road.....Can't win.
@josephboley6 жыл бұрын
Wednesday4u .cops wouldn't have gave a shit..they would have blamed Timothy.
@rock.doctor6 жыл бұрын
Yep, the pickup would have been road kill. Just shows Tim is a quality guy and took the hit. I do like the idea of the "dash" cam. They are super cheap now a days and negate stories told to the cops.
@andyv45856 жыл бұрын
tractor would win of course but it'll still be damaged and shit isn't cheap to fix especially if something important gets bent/broken like an axle. also yes the truck driver would lie like hell(assuming he's alive) and worst case you now have a lawsuit to deal with on top of a broken tractor. i've been in Tim's exact situation many times, it's very common. all they can think about is that they are behind a slow tractor and they want around it as fast as possible with no fucks given how unsafe it might be to pass.
@Wednesday4u6 жыл бұрын
I drive semi for a living and I know people hate being behind me...It's absolutely crazy the situations people put themselves in to save a couple minutes. I don't think people really think through the risk before just going for it....

This why we have dash cams in every thing that goes on the road. We mount them on the back windows of the tractors in the upper right corner, you can't see every thing but it still Catches most every thing.

Tim... You were drifting dad's tractor again, weren't you? Good to hear that you were ok, no one was hurt. Lucky that kids who grow up on farms can drive.

I hope the driver of the pickup got a ticket! Awhile ago I was driving in a farming community there was some kind of tractor sprayer. Four very high thin wheels with a lot of clearance underneath. Two vehicles in front of me passed the tractor by going underneath it on the road. I do not know if it happens a lot but I think the farmer was a little shocked. I know I was.

Got out of farming 30 years ago. When going down a road back then with the tractors we would pull over on the side when we got cars behind us to let them go by. Today they just don't pull over to let people by, maybe because all the mail boxes every 200' down the road. Good that nobody got hurt. I have saw to 2 people lose their lives running up into a combines and a tractor on the road in front of our house growing up, strait road. It is not that they are small and hard to see.
