79 Bouncy Castle

If you are not of a certain age,
Then you won’t know of a bed spring’s fame,
As there was nothing like a box spring then,
No, you had real springs on a frame.

Heavy duty coil springs,
Tied with wire in a steal buttress,
Over the springs you put a cover,
Over the cover was a thin cotton mattress.

And we kids soon discovered,
That Mom was not quite as keen,
Never giving us any credit,
For inventing the trampoline.

Mom went out to visit the neighbor,
We kids were goofing off in Donna’s room,
We realized our time was now,
As Mom would be returning soon.

We knew we didn’t have much time,
Into evil we would tread,
Robert and I crossed the hall,
And leaped up onto our own beds.

Donna soon joined us in the air,
Flying high was the event,
Robert leaped from bed to bed,
Donna turned a blanket into a tent..

Then our dog Penny started barking,
Then he leaped up from the floor,
I think all four of us were in the air,
When we saw Mom standing in the door.
