JESUS…53 days on a vent. EXTREMELY lucky to be alive. I refused to let them tube me, and the 2 ER docs made sure they didn’t, but I was in the ICU for 10 days. Couldn’t go vac to work for almost 11 months. Glad to see you’re doing much better. Cool build. As a cabinet guy I have to say I’m impressed.

The trailer was awesome, but the couple and especially the wife, truly inspiring...You can tell she is a wonderful person with that smile just beaming throughout the video and her love towards her husband and what he did for her, and of course his doing this to keep his sanity during a very trying time. Bill and Deb you really are inspiring to a lot of people (I just visited Itchitucknee and stayed at the campground you stayed at)...thanks for all you have done and continue to do!

This is a very nice setup and well thought out design. I'm sure I missed it but what is the big power demand or demands to have such large battery/solar needs for this build?
@billanddeb8 ай бұрын
They are almost total electric. You only get about 80% charge from what the batteries are rated, and if you have unsunny days, the larger battery bank will keep you going longer.

These builds are awesome but it seems that it's more about the individual filming, intentionally in my opinion, instead of the people's build. Im sure I'll offend people saying this but it's how I feel.
@billanddeb9 күн бұрын
You've probably watched other channels where the interviewer is totally in the background, and you never hear him or her talking at all. These channels do a great job in that respect. What you don't see is what goes on behind the scenes. Most likely, much of the presentation is scripted, and the 15 to 20-minute video you're watching is the result of several "takes" over and over until they reach the desired results. There could literally be hours of video shot and then discarded/edited before you see that short video. All of our walk thru videos are completely unscripted. 99% of everyone we interview have never been on camera before. Generally, when I show up, we take about 15 minutes for me to familiarize myself with their creation and then we start shooting. Almost every single time, they immediately say they're nervous. Then I say, "just follow my lead, and everything will be fine". Yes, I ask certain questions throughout the tour, and yes, I comment on things they point out. This is simply because I've learned (and still learning) the basic information our viewers want to see and learn. I wish, I could afford the time for a whole day of shooting for just one video, and not mention the hours editing involved. But, unfortunately, at these events, I simply do not have the time. Besides, by and large, most of our viewers appreciate the spontaneity. I think I'm fairly accurate in that statement when you consider you are the first one to post a comment such as this. If you would make a video, showing the proper way to shoot the type of videos we do, all unscripted and very little editing after the fact, I would definitely watch it in hopes I might learn something. Send me the link when it's done.

@@billanddeb I've been off grid now for over 5 years. I've built out two cargo vans, two cargo trailers, one P30 step van and one mini bus. Never video taped any of it. Nice little dig at the end by the way. I never said I could or would. And being 100% honest, I have no clue how it's done or the desire to learn. I just posted a comment. And I've realized after years of watching KZfaq videos and deciding this year to make some comments, well, I guess it's better I just watch. I'm not on any social media. Never have been. Never will. It's just my opinion. Unfortunately, opinions are not just opinions anymore. It turns into way more than this 59 year old man is interested in. So out of respect for those of you who do know how to do what you do, I will just continue to watch like I have done for years and leave my thoughts to myself. I'm nothing more than a God fearing, America loving veteran. I never meant to offend anyone.

WHERE IS THE STOVE? COOK TOP????
@billanddeb9 күн бұрын
They have an eduction cook top, a toaster oven, microwave, a smoker, and a grill, pretty sure they can cook.
@billanddeb9 күн бұрын
Many use an induction cook top. They also limit the use of propane indoors. Usually the only indoor fixture utilizing propane will be the shower with and on demand propane water heater. Cooking inside with a propane stove/cook top generates a lot of heat. That's why most opt to cook indoors with an electric induction cook top. The only time heat is generated is when you set the pan on it. Lift the pan off, and no more heat. You won't readily see the induction cook top simply because most store it away in a drawer, only pulling it out when needed. This, in turn frees up counter space for other tasks when not cooking.
