God Bless everyone that is going through this ordeal. I especially want to thank those civilian citizens/neighbors whom have used their own boats and resources to help and rescue those in need. As a fellow Houstonian, I'm proud and humbled by the goodness in all of you. Your efforts will not go unnoticed!!

I live in spring Texas and that subdivision is next to a major creek, as long as you don’t live near a creek you’ll be okay, those houses flooded because there wasn’t building codes yet. I live in gleanloch farms and 0 houses flooded.

All of those cars, I can’t imagine how hard it was for people there. Luckily only m street flooded and not my house. God bless everyone who helped out. All two weeks of school we were out was a time of sorrow. Everyday I walked into the shelter at my school it made me want to cry. So happy it’s all over.

Oh, who's work is this, Mother Nature? Perhaps the politicians who approved Fracking 70% of the TX? Oil and water don't mix. The Horizon Disaster and this debacle obviously demonstrate authorities don't want huge populations living in the region. TX at odds with Corrupt Washington Politicians looses billions to update flood control unable to agree on much since JFK was lured there for a parade.

What in the World does fracking and drilling have to do with the hurricane and the flooding? Houston has the deep canals dug to hold excess water, but with 40-50 inches of rain there is no ware for the water to go. I was in Houston around Memorial Day 2015, 8" of rain fell, and streets were flooded every ware.

Even better, maybe on Briarcliff Blvd just a couple blocks down from the school (if it's even still identifiable). I'm afraid to ask but I'm really desperate to see what happened to our old house and neighbors. Some of them I've fallen out of touch with but I'm super worried over here and can't get in contact with any of them. Praying for everyone there and wishing them my best!

You don't. Not really. We started packing up as soon as Harvey got in the Gulf and evacuated with the most important stuff before nearly 6 feet of water destroyed our house. That was flood #3 in that doomed house, and hopefully the last, as we managed to move to higher ground. Even though we had insurance for all 3 events, it doesn't help with the mental trauma of losing about everything you've worked for your whole life. Then you get the fun of scavengers and outright looters picking your bones clean. I'm pretty much over it now, but my husband still suffers with PTSD when we get heavy rains.

we are living in times where the world might be underwater in major places as in texas we never seen disasters with flooding on this level. my guess is that owning a motorboat will be important in the future.

This flood was mainly caused by the release of the reservoir in Conroe, right?

Sad that the builders even build homes here, I am sure they have been aware that this is a flood zone. I thought about relocating my family to Texas but definitely have to reevaluate my locations and try avoiding flood zones. this is scary

Don't mean to be rude or joke, but it looks like hollywood style interstellar class type of a movie. Just watching this video makes me think about the last day of humans on this planet. :'(

It makes you wonder...... where will all the water end up?
@JohnnyBoyCali
@JohnnyBoyCali 6 жыл бұрын
YOu could have easily looked that up you know but since you're lazy, all the roads and neighborhoods have drainage systems built under them, to move the water to lakes, rivers, reservoirs and into the ocean. Some of it also just gets absorbed into the earth to replenish the groundwater underneath us. Thats why wells can pump out water from deep below the ground. It just needs to stop raining so darn much so that it doesnt all pile up and has a chance to drain out.

I don't understand why builder companies built houses such expensive in flood areas and sell to people.... there are so many new houses around Houston areas/ outside Houston that are flooded too... didn't they anticipate the problem before they built such so many houses... so many people were robbed by these giant builders.. someone got to pay for the damages.,.
