Hundreds of homes flooded in Cypress Creek area; Rescuer shows devastation

Күн бұрынA stop sign, which is normally 5 or 6 feet up, was seen nearly underwater in a flooded subdivision in North Harris County on Monday. We're taking a look around in the Ponderosa Forest area, where rescues are still underway near Cypress Creek.

"Apocalyptic" was exactly the right word in Ponderosa Forest during Harvey. We had a house on Cone Creek Drive, and the water got up to at least 8 feet (a water mark inside our porte-cochere showed where the water crested). These firefighters and church cleanup crews were, literally, our miracles afterwards.

Three blocks, then two blocks, then one block from the house I grew up in. I was half expecting them to go down there, but the current on that final corner during a flood is really bad.

Sandalwood/Lakeview got hit almost as bad!!! Patti Lynn Lake and Buffalo Bayou became one!!!

I always wonder how much makeup they went through that week. The newscasters had to be exhausted. It was news 24/7 and VERY important,
