Thank you for the scaffolded lesson that makes the material much easier to understand. I just wanted to share that the most appropriate and commonly used measure word for a dog is 条, while 只 is mostly used for a puppy.

When you ask the amount less than ten, you should use “几”， if the amount is more than ten, then you should use "多少".

As I feel, as a native speaker, when you use 多少, you can skip the measure words, but you have to put them in if you use 几. E.g. 你有几本杂志/你有多少杂志？

Yes, yi is special word. Its tone will change by the following words.

The teacher did a wonderful job. Her voice for the most part was very clear and understandable. My only suggestion would be for her to learn better pronunciation of the English word "measure". Every time she said "measure", it sounded like she was saying the Chinese "Méiyǒu" (没有), leaving her to sound as if she was saying "没有 word". (That would mean "no word" or "don't have a word".) I'm not trying to be overly critical. Far from it. I simply want to offer a suggestion that might polish her already fine presentation even further.
