"Kali is a deadly art...without the art it is all dark" - I think that remark is profoundly insightful, Doug M. I know these arts can warp your mind if you approach them from the "wrong" angle but it was absolutely refreshing to hear that come out of your mouth - that's some perspective worth listening to and it says everything about where this man is really coming from. Well done! BTW, nice vid on other points as well. Funker rocks!

Another great video, Funker. It's hard for most people to see the intricacies, such as exactly where they are cutting, when they are going at pace so it was nice to see you ask them to break it down for the masses. Keep up the awesome work.

That is much threat I learned in Stockton in the early 1970s. The schools were all backyard and it was very family centric. It was not really taught with the idea of making a fortune from it. More or less to pass it on. The big difference these days is liability. If you trained the way we did years ago you would be sued I suspect at some point. We trained really hard with out gloves and later live blades.

Good stuff :) I see and hear a lot of James Keating from Comtec in here. Learning the circles is big! Trapping, Checking and passing is also big! Totally agree with being aware of ones surroundings. This is one I go over and over with mostly with girls and I'm not trying to be mean here lady's. Cause if you been trained you're all over it. Also training to set one's self up for success. So we're not in a situation to be stock by the predator. Having your face totally into your smart phone is not looking out for your success and would be easy mark for attack. Thanks for the upload! :)
