I love how he makes "it's just 8 days a week, lads, we can manage it" sound very reasonable while the actual content of the sentence is absolutely insane
@confusedwhale4 ай бұрын
Is it really? Instead of a 7 day week with a 2 day weekend, you can have a 8 day week with a 3 day weekend... Or 2 days on 1 day off followed by 3 days on 2 days off. Then, instead of having 52.1428571428571 weeks in a year, you can have just 45.625 weeks in a year. And instead of having 4.28571428571428 weeks in a month, you just have 3.75 weeks in a month. Our words concerning time are meaningless. We are careening through space, and constantly missing the other masses in our proximity. If we want more days off per week, we can make it happen.

I think, yes, that is the only logical conclusion to take away from this. The Beatles are responsible for erasing themselves from musical history, but don't worry, it all got fixed in the end (I'm assuming. I haven't seen Yesterday). They're musical gods, but not like you'd call someone a rock god or something. Like literal gods. And one of them is being vainly irresponsible with time.

I love the the outside context of this entire video, because it insinuates that every single band in existance has to take into account the potential existential effects on reality their lyrics can hold. Like... Every single band is a hedge wizard capapble up accidentally blowing up their wizard tower by trying to automate cheese slicing. Imagine a kids show about starting up a band in highschool and accidentally going on sick adventures while your band is trying to come up with lyrics and then that leads to a complete song at the end of every episode of a cartoon that is about a certain lesson. Awesome.
