Grant Fletcher is considered one of the best tour visual artists in the world. As a motion designer he's created visuals for celebrities and large organisations. It's safe to say if you've been online long enough you've probably seen something he's created or better yet, something someone has created using an asset he hand-crafted.
In this tutorial Grant teaches you how to customize motion graphics templates and other visual assets so they are uniquely yours and don't look stock.

YOU ARE THE WIIIIIIIIINEEEEEEEEER! 😵 Well done! Love me those first 3. Believe it or not even though I referenced 2001 a few times in the pack I've never actually seen it all the way through. 😂 Got an instagram handle? We will DM you a download link.

I’m getting Tron, WarGames, and The Last Starfighter vibes from the pack. Also, the car used reminds me of the DeLorean from Back To The Future.

@aj johnson Nope. Hit. War Games is correct & only 1 is wrong. 😅

@@GrantMFletcher The Last Starfighter inspired the arcade game model, the car model was inspired by the DeLorean in Back to the Future, the globes and maps were inspired by War Games and disco balls were probably inspired by Saturday Night Fever/ Staying Alive since they were the most popular disco movies from that era. The grids tripped me up the most because I was thinking of Tron but grids were used almost everywhere in the 80s.

Not to be a party pooper or a Karen but the thumbnail is not really appropriate in my opinion 🤓 Of course I'm a motion designer, obviously... Having worked in teams where not everyone is familiar with design software, in my experience it's more about participating in the task than doing the job yourself. It's about making quick changes to let the motion designer in charge focus on bigger projects. Motion designers are not just for creating ✨asset packs✨ and most companies that are big enough will need one. Because someone who's starting out with this kind of tutorial most likely doesn't know the many rules and constraints that designers deal with (or at least they most likely don't have experience with that). In a good working environment you would ask the motion designer to help you understand the basics, have him/her make a cheat sheet for you and even make templates, it's more effective than starting from scratch especially if you don't plan on working on complex projects. So yeah don't fire your motion designer 😎
@GrantMFletcher
@GrantMFletcher Жыл бұрын
HA! You're not being a Karen. Unless your name is actually Karen. If so please continue to be the most Karen you can be! :) But seriously though. I totally agree with most of what you are saying. I'm a full-time motion designer myself as I probably made clear by my shameless inclusion of my showreel (not to mention I obviously didn't make this pack in Premiere). The idea here is for editors to jump in and try stuff for themselves. "You can do it". Not to disqualify yourself because you don't have After Effects experience. Personally I would do all of these tips is AE just because it's way more comfortable for me, but for the DaVinci, FCP and Pr folks then the days of needing to hire someone else for everything is over. Motion Design is amazing and important, Motion Designers are incredible (yes I am indeed incredible) but for that little bit of spice for an edit just have a go yourself! You and I of course will continue the work of intricate detail and smashing together graphic design with cinematic genius. ;) Thank you for coming to my TED talk

There are sacrifices with all of the programs. The differences are not really that vast anymore. Luckily these tips will work in all 3 of the major players. I use Premiere because of its integration with After Effects. If that wasn't there I'd be on Da Vinci.
