12:36 Brooks does the same thing with bass layering where he puts dubstep growl samples on top of his bass as a "mid-bass". He explained it in his "Dusk Till Dawn" remix masterclass ( kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gNaTm91ly7LHaYk.html ). I'm all for it! I used to say that "dubstep is way different than club/festival music, so they don't have a reason to be mixed at all". After trying it, however, I have never looked back. It really gives the bass its grit and fills the lack of low-mid frequencies. I have never been happier to prove my past self wrong.

I think he has 2 ways. Original style and Remix style. Remix style chords are flatter than Original style.

Treat leads, chords, bass as one sound in busses and don´t add too many layers, instead compress and distort them and have the same adsr for all of the individual sounds

How to layer strong Synth and vocals?? like you did in "Face up to the sun"...the vox sound so clean inspite of strong Synths🔥

Play with the stereo image of yours instruments. Process them separately. Mid/side EQ help making room for a loud and heavily compressed synth. Also try to give warmth/pression to yours vocal by using saturation/multiband compression. Finally don't be lazy with automations and be creative !

How did you get all elements of the original? Is there any way to get a normal song (mp3) into such producing program? Two years ago, there was a remix competition of Never Alone from Mesto and Felix Jaehn where you could download the elements. But I haven't found such thing again. Greetings from Germany!

Remix is an official track that the original artists pay for other artist to make a remix and give them all the elements they need, and the one used for competition is bootleg. So that’s why non-pro artists can’t get anything.
