Funny how I am now desensitized to these kinds of prices lol. Just a few years ago when I was first getting into watches, spending more than 300 dollars on a watch seemed extravagant. Now I'm like "Under $15,000? What a deal!" haha. I own a couple of Seikos, which I love, so Grand Seiko is a brand I have my eye on for my first real luxury watch.

I love the Tudor 1926. While I am a couple years away from cracking the $1000+ watch category, it is currently high on the wish list.

Just in style alone, I prefer the Tudor 1926 (in that color combo especially) to any other Tudor or Rolex reference. It's a phenomenal piece that punches way above its price point, and there's a more than fair chance that it's next on my list to look into purchasing.

Hi Teddy. Sorry, just a quick one. The GS watch you show is not in fact the SBGP013, but rather the SBGP03/05. The 013 looks similar indeed but does not feature the all polished 44 case and has a diff bracelet & markers. Just FYI 👍🏻

Great video Teddy. While I can afford more expensive watches, the higher price point would mean I get to pick up a new watch much less often. With more affordable, but still awesome watches, I can buy a few a year if I want. I love the Cartier choice. I'm not an automatic "snob" but one thing I don't like about quartz watches is the tick-tick-tick movement of the 2nd hand. The Cartier doesn't have a 2nd hand to bug me and it will always be on time without me having to store it in a watch winder, wind it manually, or wear it every day. I'm going to have to add it to my collection someday!

HI Teddy.. Great show as always.. I have a Tudor Glamour Double Date in the same colours as the 1926.. Great watch and never ever mentioned anywhere.. It has a double date window at 12 .. the numbers are on seperate discs . I love it .

I like how VC have brought out a more ‘attainable/affordable’ model, but for north of 10k there are a LOT of haute horlogerie options with in-house movements available if you’re willing to look beyond the holy trinity. Glashutte, Jaquet Droz and JLC to name but a few.

A lot of watch brands are very pricey, without any reason

I got an opaline 39mm Tudor 1926 last year and haven’t looked back! Didn’t know it existed until I saw Teddy’s first video and I couldn’t be happier with my choice

I love VC and the Fifty Six is one of my favorite watches they make. Especially the blue dial on the stainless bracelet.

There’s no way I’m paying $2k for a quartz watch just to say it’s a Grand Seiko 😂 Just like Mr. Wonderful says, you buy a GS because of the Spring Drive. However, I do feel differently about the Reverso - that seems well worth its price. Love the rest of these offerings.

I considered many of these. But I bought a Zenith Elite with the 680 cal. What a watch and highly slept on. It is an older model.

Nice video as usual. As far as I know, the Tank Photovoltaic is almost impossible to find. Does anyone know if they are producing more? I even heard Cartier has stopped production on this model.

Of course used changes everything. For example used Omega from ~20 years ago with 1120 or 2500 movements go for less than the price of that new De Ville. You can get older Seamaster 300s, Aqua Terras, and imo the De Villes from that era look better than today's.

I own the 1926 and absolutely love it. It was my first real upgrade ever since I bought a pair of Hamiltons.

The 1926 is very very high on my wish list. That, the Bel Canto, the an Ordain Model 1 Plum Fume and the Tissot PRX waffle tiffany Plue new release would keep me happy for a long time .

I have a quartz Cartier Tank. But just because i wanted a good all around watch in a quartz, i could just throw on anytime. But i would still recommend the tank in the automatic movement.

I love Teddy, but I had to laugh at the "How are they able to do this?" line for a 12k watch.

The main problem with the fiftysix is that it directly positioned against the villaret. And besides brand cache (what can you do? Vacheron IS a better cache than Blancpain). They really can't compare in any term. Finishing, proportion, movement, complications. A villaret is just one level higher in anything but price

Great video. The fact that people are willing to overpay for Rolex when you can get a VC for less is absurd. I would be all over that VC in a minute. As for the Tudor 1926, I bought my girlfriend one for her birthday last year and she loves it. I'm seriously considering adding one to my collection as well.

I'm over 65 , I'm a professional photographer, Ive paid $6,000.00 for cameras that are worth lees than $500 dollars today .. I 've had custom computers built for over $5k.. that is in the garbage today.. so.. what i see here is appreciation at work, as a kid I always had a fascination for watches.. Im sold, I'll start with a $1k watch then move on to $5k or $6k my cap with be $13k..Don't like Rolex.. I have 6 watches in my collection most are $500 G-shock..

Hi Teddy. As for the Carter Solar Beat...I wonder if it had anything to do with Seiko discontinuing their Solar Tank watch. It seemed Seiko discontinued their watch not long after the Carter watch came out.

I recommend anyone that’s just starting out in these price ranges to go straight for a Grand Seiko. You absolutely can’t go wrong with any of their pieces.

Something that makes a nice anniversary gift as a pairing is a white with blue dial 1926 paired with a Clair de Rose. Adult children can group together and buy them for their parents banner anniversaries and we and our friends have also grouped together and given them to friends for significant anniversaries.

Teddy. Seriously man, $2000 is not “affordable” to many of us. That’s nearly a months salary for me. And I consider myself pretty well paid. A “luxury” watch for me is about $600. I have paid more in certain (sales bonus) scenarios, but I really do think that terms like “gateway” & “affordable” & “only $3000” are not appropriate considering what’s going on in The world right now. Addicted to your vids tho. 👍🏻

I would go for the Tudor Style in 38mm instead of the 1926.

You can get a Seiko spring drive watch for under 3 grand which has a better and more accurate movement than any other watch brand with an automatic movement.

That Tudor is gorgeous. If they would just upgrade the movement a bit (it's an SW200) I think that would persuade a lot of people to buy it who wouldn't now because of the movement.

Hasn't the Solarbeat been discontinued?

I have a Deville, it's very nice however I had to have it in for maintenance after only 2 years which I found to a be a little dubious. It was gift though and a great watch but I think Tudor, Grand Seiko or Nomos would be the better picks I think you get more for your $$. Moser is great! they are not accessible to the average watch buyer however, that's honestly a silly take.

I love nomos but I wish they offered a better bracelet. If they had a good bracelet, I would buy the campus immediately. Waiting on my horage supersede which I get this month finally.

spending thousands of dollars for quartz watch is essentially insane. quartz movement can crash any moment , especially after some impact or serious knocks even when new, and are basically unable to be repaired.
