And, As pointed out in New God's 1995 issue #8-11 consistently he became the DARK-SIDE of the source, as Comfirmed in Spectre 2001 issue #19, Jack Kirby Collector issue #49, Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne issue #6 etc... This is also why in New God's 1995 issue #12 and #15 they DIRECTLY correlate this event with the creation of the Godwave including the Godwave that created the Old Gods.
