What I gather from the sounds and the responses is: Wampler makes a pedal for any style or sounds an individual would want. Brian is good at what he does. BTW, Great demo and playing as usual Johan. You have become somewhat of an icon for guitarists in the LP/Marshall world. Thanks so much

HAHA I feel like an Idiot. I was listening to this and thinking "OMG he sounds so bad, hes playing so slow and everythings WAY to distorted, he's not doing any of these pedals justice." I looked at the comments and saw everyone saying how great he was. and I was just so confused..... Figured out my KZfaq speed was at half.... DOH. When I brang it up to full speed... yeah, one of the best pedal shoot outs on here. Thank you for posting this. I will be rewatching it now!

Great demo Johan! just one remark, you set most pedals with the level maxed out. This way you really push the output section of the champ and by doing so you get also drive of the champ and character of the champ. If you drive the level a bit less, more of the pedal characteristics can shine through. But anyway, really interesting demo.

+Ato Zee I had a Sovereign and it sounds good but bass clips a lot and I just couldnt stand that. I tried it on a few different tube amps(Engl Ironball, Blackstar HT20, Crate V30). Also I have read that from many others who have bought or tried that pedal. I sold it a few years ago but an not letting that stop me from buying another Wampler pedal. Ive found the distortion I like in my Ironball, just looking for a overdrive now. I guess I do want a Wampler Triple Wreck though, that pedal kicks major ass.

Man - Wampler makes some good stuff! Only a couple sounds I didn't like, and that could have just been the way the pedal was set. The Paisley seems like a very versatile pedal. Also really dug the Plexi and the Ace Thirty. The Tweed 57 is incredible. Never heard any type of pedal get close to that tone. Very cool.

I create quite a few songs with the Velvet because it just makes me space the notes just right due to the way it dynamically calls texture over itself. Also, I have the same les paul black beauty custom and it sounds exactly like yours in this video with the velvet. :D Nice to hear how it compares to the rest of the lineup.

For a shootout that really makes sense you should always use the same patterns for each pedal. Play less and shorter bits! So many reviewers get carried away by their own narcissistic playing. As far as I can judge by the settings (and from what I hear through my speakers), you cranked all pedals up full without checking their softer abilities. I know it's hard to do a comparison of no less than eight pedals - but to help prospective buyers in their decision making process, you should heed some of my friendly hints. Thank you.

Hi, I havent tried the Euphoria yet. But at least the OR80 takes pedals very well. Cheers
@MEDiumInc
@MEDiumInc 7 жыл бұрын
If you have not already figured out an answer for yourself, ill give you my opinion, but YMMV The Wampler euphoria is a very transparent, and clean sounding OD, only adding a bit of presence to your high end. So if your amp sounds good without it, its going to sound good with it. Ive put the euphoria through a meriad of large tube amps, small tube amps, hybrid amps, and SS amps. Have not been displeased yet! Now I will tell you the Bass control acts like a fuzz control. it ADDS bass. so if its turned all the way left, you have no additional bass, if you go up to the middle, you add quite a bit of fuzz and bass. All the way right, and it gets ridiculous.

John, do you think the hot-wire's distortion channel sounds like what? Maybe a plexy? I have one and i think that the distortion is so fat and creamy too. I think there are missing knobs for bass middle and treble...

You left out the best one wampler makes...the Euphoria. Yes I know that dual fusion is supposed to be it but it is absolutely NOT. I bought it and sent it back. The Euphoria pedal is the most awesome overdrive pedal I have used in 20+ years of playing and believe me when I state that that is saying something. Of course I was always after that Dumble tone so, Im sure there are many other great tones of overdrive and maybe the Euphoria wouldn`t be for everyone. But after trying boutique after boutique pedal and pretty much anything and everything about two years ago I bought the Euphoria and was blown away. It is an absolute diamond.

I was getting worried for a minute, I had my eyes closed and thought they were all sounding pretty bland at best and terrible at worst in your setup. Opened my eyes in response to good sound on 30, Paisley, and Tweed. I like Wampler, easy for them to sound fake though if you they're not just happy at least in my rig. Volume and voltage sensitive. Wish they'd make larger format higher quality pedals I think they'd be really special if the circuit had more room to breath aurally. This is the first demo of a Sovereign that I've heard that I reacted very negatively to, sounded very scratchy and bad through your amp with that guitar

Sorry, but this is an awful video! I mean no disrespect, but every pedal is cranked and you capture none of the individual character that I presume each pedal has. It's just a grind fest with $1800.00 worth of pedals, but not in a good way. Try a moderate setting, then one a little more turned up, but not just dimed all the way for every pedal. That being said, I thought the Paisley sounded best here. My apologies!
