8 Psychological Tips On How To See Through People

You don’t need to be a psychic in order to read people’s minds. Those around you constantly give away their thoughts, feelings, and intentions without even realizing it. You just need to be really attentive to see right through them.
Obviously, everybody’s different, each with their own mannerisms and peculiarities. That's why it's so important to understand what behavior is normal for a particular individual. Slight changes in their behavior or body language can speak volumes and allow you to read them like an open book. Analyzing all the information you have, you'll be able to understand someone’s personality a lot better without even spending that much time with them.
In different cultures, there can be different rules. For example, in some countries, people look away to show their respect, not because they’re hiding something or feeling uncomfortable. They say you should never judge a book by its cover. That’s good advice and all, but a person’s appearance really can tell a lot about them.
We like to spend more time with people who share our interests and personality traits. Watch who someone spends most their time with and how they treat other people. See if this person tries to make others comfortable or rudely annoys people without even noticing it.

SUMMARY
-Try to understand what behavior is normal for a particular individual, and then pay attention to anything the person does differently.
-Pay attention to the details: how they carry themselves, how they communicate with other people, what secrets their body language reveals.
-Always keep in mind the context of the situation: in different cultures, there can be different rules.
-People, either willingly or subconsciously, show their true selves through their clothing choices.
-Facial expressions can reveal a lot of things people would rather keep hidden. For example, when someone likes you, their facial muscles relax, the head tilts a bit to the side, and blood rushes to their lips, making them slightly plumper and brighter.
-Watch who someone spends most their time with and how they treat other people.
-Don’t just listen to what a person says, pay attention to how they say it.
-Intuition can let you down from time to time, but the longer you keep listening to it and observing people, the better it’ll work.

Amanda E. I was in a relationship with one. I learnt the hard way because my intuition was telling me something wasn’t right with him! He put me through so much abuse but I finally got away. Cik Pessimist Introvert-Nah....That's just you, you have serious issues. You feel bad about yourself and want to see if people feel about you the way you feel about yourself, so you look for that in others. That can really blur what you're seeing when talking to other people and cause you to gain a faulty perception of how others view you. You need to get yourself some help.....

Misty Nights maybe...Sometimes I am thinking to stop my habit so I don't overthink but it will lead to the anxiety
@MistyNights35
@MistyNights35 6 жыл бұрын
Cik Pessimist Introvert-Not overthinking things is hard because I do that a lot. I'm starting to learn to just ignore the negative thoughts unless something more substantial comes to play(concrete evidence) other then my own negative thoughts. Because a lot of times when I'm overthinking it distorts the way people look to me as in whether they are sincere or not. I can sense when people are being genuine but that overthinking side of my brain tells me they are still hiding something. I'm trying to get rid of the anxiety because it's annoying AF. And I'm only dealing with "mild" anxiety. smh
@dirtcykoz
@dirtcykoz 6 жыл бұрын
I do this as well, but it's not always bad. It also is kind of cool depending on who you are with. I surprise some friends with it sometimes. it's really dependent on how you look at it. It can only get better, but people that do these things are mostly looked at as understanding, so there's a plus.

Global Adventurer true. Although i have multiple thoughts for a first impression . So i really cant decide what to beleive as i see 2 perspectives in the same analysis of thr person . Which one to go by .and btw this happens simultaneously in my brain while deciding what the person is like.

minoshka dsouza You will have that gut feeling something isn't right, that will make you go....hmm? And dismiss it as over thinking on your part, but it will come full circle (as what happens to most people), but then it's too late. There's always a major warning in the beginning, and most people dismiss it. That's how people end up killed....not going by their gut feeling.
@m.n.d5949
@m.n.d5949 6 жыл бұрын
Global Adventurer hmm . A vry gud point there. Yr right. Reason i said so is i found certain people suspicious initially without reason but later found no reason to feel that way as they ended up normal so i dismissed it. And its been years. But they didnt slip . So i was like probably my initial judgement was too soon and i was being over cautious. And i can tend toward paranoia at times so i give that a benifit of doubt clouding my judgement. Im an over thinker by nature so u can assume my predicament . But i have been right about many too. However ive been wrong about some.... until date. Whose to say it could be proven right in thr future. But i think yr rule applies only to those of a sound and stable mind unaffected by paranoia. Eg: assuming yr bf will cheat on u for no given reason after being with him for many yrs and hes been faithful throughout but due to insecurities u just assume hes a cheat. This is one senario many people fall into a trap of assuming paranoia is intuition and getting into a mess coz of it. U get what im saying right?
@GlobalAdventurer
@GlobalAdventurer 6 жыл бұрын
minoshka dsouza I get what you're saying. But, I'm speaking of dangerous people. Anyone can lie or cheat on you at anytime, even the people with the best intentions, but I'm speaking about dangerous people and dangerous circumstances they could put you in physically and mentally. It's like all those mass murderers and serial killers. There is ALWAYS a subtle warning light and that "gut feeling". People just ignore. But, for over thinkers like yourself, it may be difficult right now, but that will change with time and more experience.

1). What about people who don't have the money to buy the clothes that will impress the 'right' people? 2). What about people who have the money, but choose to spend it elsewhere on other things they consider to be more important? 3). What about people who dress sharply to conceal their lack of knowledge on things and try to bluff their way through life?

To me the people who wear that type of clothing are the party girls who just want to have fun and disregard the consequences (from what I've seen. Could be different depending on location/ethnicity/just in general).Im taking this video with a grain of salt though.

Laurence Nguyen Im late because YT doesn't really notify too much on replies, but the way you take care of your outer appearance does in a way reflect your character. Tell me a guy wearing a tanktop and sagging shorts with a large chain necklace doesn't reflect his character. It's not hard to read a person's character by their body language and the way they dress. The girl in the timestamp for example. Her clothes are extremely loose. The way she's dressed and posing for the camera is asking for attention or trying to stand out by "doing something different" or looking different than the "normal average" thing to do for a picture (which can be considered boring or dull for someone who likes to party and please people). Same goes for something like a duck face pose when taking a selfie. People do that because they want to do something to make them stand out and to be different from the norm. I have no idea if you're reply is genuine or sarcasm, but my reply still stands either way.

I’ve *always* been able to read just seconds after meeting them; even when I was little. My parents have said I’ve always been very discerning about people. One of my friends in middle school asked me what I thought about her friend and I didn’t know why she was asking me. She said I’ve always been right about people but never payed attention to what I said and ended up getting hurt several times. My brother always has me meet girls he’s interested in because he knows I can tell in an instant if someone gives me a bad feeling or if someone is complete genuine. There’s times he thought I was just being over sensitive and wouldn’t listen to a word I would say and ended up getting his heart broken by a girl he dated for 3 years and wanted to marry. (So thankful he didn’t end up marrying her. She was horrible)

The concept of “first” have been distorted with time because in today’s days means “you are first” while in the past and for more of the human history was “you serve others first”. If you apply that principle in been first by been the last, then you have learn how to treat others. Never try to have friends by pleased them but by just be a friend. The results will amazed you and you will find out that you may have one or two real friends. I prefer to have at least one than a bunch who pretend to be friends.

Well I love smart clothes but I do also wear comfy outdoor clothes when life gets hectic. They say you can tell a lot from a person by looking at their shoes. I feel this is true for me as my taste in shoes has changed since undertaking therapy

1. Define the Norm. 2. Observe and Compare. 3. Always Mind the Context. 4. Check out the way someone is dressed. 5. What's with the Face? 6. Watch their behaviour in groups. 7. Listen to how they articulate their thoughts. 8. Trust your intuition. ................Have a nice day :)

I have noticed that one of the secretaries in an office I used alot at school tends to say when she sees me "We haven't heard from you in a while." Like she is answering for the whole office and I always think to myself "How do you know ? Do you go around checking other people's email?" It feels like she is trying to dominant the whole office.

One of the things I don´t like is when people wear sun glasses all the time and don´t even lift them for the moment they exchange hellos with you. Or if people you´re formal with wear gloves, like in winter, and keep wearing them when shaking hands. In Germany average people and of younger age often weren´t taught fine manners. In France for instance they always take off the glove.

It depends on the person who you are talking to. Usually when someone is talking or sharing something with me I act very attentive just to understand what that person is saying. I make various faces based on the topics and subject matter during the conversation. Most times I either squint or raise an eyebrow.

I'm a bit confused...I was always told everywhere I went that looking to the *left* was an indication that someone is lying or making something up, and that looking up and to the right was an indication that someone is trying to remember something, not the other way around. Which of these are actually true?

I actually do agree with many of these, but of course as in the beginning you need to realise these don't work all the time for everyone. The eye contact thing upset me as someone who has studied ASD; people with said disorder have terrible eye contact. Either too much or too little usually, but they tend to also be the most honest individuals! At least until society teaches them not to be.

People can hide their true intentions, feelings and personalities but if they do it constantly or for a long period of time, they might develop mental illnesses. The knowledge of observing others by their body language, facial expressions and voice tone might help us to understand their attitude at that moment but not to understand a person's true character base on what we have learnt from these knowledge

Okay, I'm confident (I do drama and want to be a actress) but I don't talk much unless I'm with a group of two or less people or with my close friends. I fidget alot and can be anxious but I always dance too a non-existant tune. I wear comfy clothes but I'm care deeply (but act like I don't.) and im not stubborn.explain this.
