Mind you as an owner of a zephrus g15 i enjoy the power and freedom that windows as an operating system gives me. Not only that i am a creative professional who does a lot of 3d modelling . I require a dedicated gpu and blender simply works better on windows.

They are a nice laptop mate, I just bought the 14 pro a couple of weeks ago , coming from pc`s I'm still learning Mac OS , it takes a bit of getting used too , but the more I learn the more I like it. And I agree with everything you said about the quality of the device, its a beauty , and yes the speakers are surprisingly amazingly good for a laptop.

I give respect to both companies, Apple for their hardware and eco system, Windows for their OS and software compatibility.

Totally agree. I switched back in 2004 to a G5 iMac and have never gone back to PC. I would freak out if a cat sat on my 16” MBP M1pro though 😄 BTW is that a Lumix G85 on your desk? I bought one back in 2017 such a great camera for the price even after all these years.

I am long time Windows user. Been thinking about moving to Mac for awhile. The frustrations you expressed previously in learning new O/s, file management system, etc., are certainly a concern because then will be juggling two o/s's. On the hardware side, the ooo's and ahh's about design, appearance, how the lid lifts and starts the computer, the wonderful speaker sound, keyboard, battery life when plugged-in, etc., are irrelevant to me. I can get similar Windows computer build. I don't work with speakers blaring (if need sound, will use headphones), I have external monitor which is main screen, have mechanical keyboard, etc. However, for travel and out of office generally, this is the where the Mac M1/M2 in my opinion now really comes into its own with reported superb battery life and performance, leaving windows in the dust (current travel laptop MS Surface Pro).

I have to use Windows at work but at home, I do have a choice and I prefer my macOS over Windows any day. I just saw you video with the issues that you had with it and they are simple ones. I assume that you have resolved them already. Wish you happy computing.

To me the only reasons I would switch to Mac would be for the battery life and the ability to have max performance without being plugged in. Anything else a Windows laptop can do and most of the time better.

There is no actual reason to buy a Macbook. You buy a mac for things like battery life, the keyboard and aesthetic stuff. You buy a Windows laptop if you actually want to get shit done. Windows laptops are now just as good at video editing as well. macOS is NOT user friendly and is missing absolutely necessary things that power users need. Add on top of that I can buy a solid Windows laptop with 16gb ram for under $1000. No business can justify the cost of the Macbook. Anyone who says they can don't understand simple things like margins. Macbook users are outpaced in productivity in the workplace by Windows users twice over. I've done the experiments myself. Windows isn't perfect but it's just designed better for actual work. And of course, gaming. As we all know you pretty much cannot play any AAA titles on the Mac and that is just another checkmark against it, a massive one. I banned macbooks in my business because they are junk and I can't just throw whatever I want on them and I won't even go into the issues getting them to integrate properly with Active Directory. JUNK. ALl my mac users were out on their own little island and that's what Apple wants. So I threw Apple in the trash. If you literally only use your laptop to sit on the couch and surf then by all means buy one. I mean, it's embarrassing they even still offer an 8GB memory option on the Air. 8GB is not even a bare minimum anymore, it's 16GB. My laptop has 64GB and I can push that if I have tons of browser tabs open, some programs open and then fire up a modern game. In 2023 I shouldn't have to shut anything down to run anything else. If you do get a Macbook, get the Pro. Do NOT buy the Air that has 8GB of ram. The macbok air 16gb model is only a few hundred dollars cheaper than the massively better Pro model. Apple charges WAY too much for their hardware. It's not justified. $200 for an extra 8GB of ram to get to 16 total on the air? LOL. I bought 64gb of high speed DDR5 for my laptop for $217. I also upgraded other hardware in it because, I own it, so I should be allowed to upgrade whatever I want. Stop paying these absurd prices for inferior machines. It's inferior from a spec standpoint and most importantly from an OS standpoint. The reason apple keeps their ecosystem closed is because they know they are selling inferior crap. If they threw iMessage on windows laptops and some other small features only the very few macOS diehards would even buy their hardware.

So after all this time, do you miss windows or are you still satisfied with the Mac?

Im really impressed with the hardware quality and battery on my m2 16 pro, but the moment something well built running arm and offers me similar battery I am definitely going back to Windows. Windows is vastly superior. The taskbar and general desktop function feels far more modern on Windows, whereas Apple seems to have stuck to the GUI they developed in the 80s only adding more and more polish. There is a good reason almost 100% of Linux distros copied Windows and not OSX.

I have a lenovo yoga slim 7 pro X and i bought a macbook air M2 yesterday. As soon as intel or AMD release an ARM competitor to the M chips, lenovo will be able to make a real macbook competitor. Since i have both the computers, i can tell you lenovo have nothing to be ashame of compared to apple. The screens are equivalent, the keyboards are equivalent, the trackpad are equivalent (the lenovo is a standard trackpad with springs but the tracking and glide is as smooth as the apple one, they just need to switch technology), the build quality is flawless, you can try to make it squeek, it doesn't, it feel like a tank. The only reason i switch is the fucking battery life. The intel chip + windows are destroying the battery. It only last 6 hours unpluged if i just browse the web and randomly, windows can crank up some task in the background and burn the battery faster. Not having to think constantly about where to plug the laptop is a real treat. And not having to think about what task is runing in the background is even better.
