I stood just a bit further along from there and watched 2 sharks (great whites I think) swim past me. It was a mesmerising 15 minutes watching them slowly cruise along with a perfect birds eye view. Also saw a colossal elephant seal there another time, incredible once again!

The guy in the video mentioned they were Bronze Whaler sharks.

Bronze whalers or blacktip sharks. Not sure what species they are. If someone there would have jumped in and gotten close to them……

How cold is the water there? It looks nice and transparent but the thought of being in what I have always imagined to be cold oceanic water rather uninviting

Lol...to my knowledge bronzies aren't harmless. They're just not as aggressive as whites...

Holidays at Robberg many years ago. Always saw sharks especially near point. Plenty seen along that coast

They are Bronze Whaler Sharks.... They Dont Bite people they Mostly eat fish and rays and small sharks ..... They come past Plett basically every year after the Sardine Run up Durban way....
