You've obviously done the research and featured most of the best hawker centers in Singapore. Plenty of other signature dishes at these centers besides the ones you've featured, but a great introduction to nice eating places to explore besides the usual touristy ones. Well done, guys!

Hi Ernest, thanks so much for watching and for your kind words. We are so glad to hear that we have done it justice and it was a delight to tour around Singapore to find these amazing centres! Any centres we missed or other dishes you recommend for next time?

They covered the more famous hawker centres in Sg. But there’s much more great hawker centres with yummy local food, such as Golden Mile Food Centre, Jalan Berseh Food Centre, Redhill Food Centre, Bukit Merah Food Centre, Beo Cresent Market, Changi Village, 628 Ang Mo Kio, Etc

That is a nice list of hawker centres for tourist to visit. Most of the iconic street food are represented in this video. There are 118 hawker centres all across Singapore, so travellers who have more time or are more adventurous can consider going into the heartlands and older residential estates to checkout various options.

There was sooo much to choose from, all very delicious! In putting this video together we did seek out recommended dishes for each place and we also looked out for whether the stalls had 'michelin' awards. The long queues were also a good indicator of quality!

1:55 It's not that Singaporeans didn't have a word for it. "Carrot cake" is a direct translation from its Chinese name (萝卜糕), which is also a name that has been around for centuries in Southern China. Carrot cake is a traditional Chinese confection. That's because the Chinese word for daikon radish is transliterally "white carrot" (白萝卜), for centuries if not millenia. It's the cooking method here (i.e. fried with eggs and sweet pickled carrots, or with sweet black soy sauce) that's uniquely Singaporean.

I will travel an hour just to eat the western BBQ at old airport hawker center. They have been around since the 70s. The chicken chop or mixed grilled with garlic sauce is out of this world.

Fyi carrot cake got it's name as the radish in Chinese literally translated means white carrot. Do try some of the Chinese traditional sweet dessert in Chinatown hawker as well like the sweet dumpling balls soup, chendol from Old Amoy chendol, black sesame/almond paste etc.. Tian tian is pretty much patronised by tourists now it's also on the pricier side hope you guys try other chicken rice stalls and compare them. The chicken rice chilli we just call that chicken rice chilli sauce not sambal as they are actually different 😊sambal is usually chilli paste that is fried in a few aromatics and shrimp paste or shrimp. The chicken rice chilli is mainly blended chilli with garlic, shallots, ginger and chicken broth. Oh ya bandung drink is made with rose syrup and evaporated milk not condensed milk. I think the more popular option would be sugar cane juice with lemon😊 Most hawker centres serve till lunch. Only a handful do night businesses. If they opened at night most likely they don't open during the day.

The carrot cake and char kuay teow you showed do not look nice. There are much better ones. This Lau Pa Sat does not always have all the best food. My favourite hawker centres in Singapore - Hong Lim market and food centre (best fried kuay teow Mee or best char Kuay teow is there at 02-17) , Golden Mile food centre (best chicken rice is there at B1-35. Hokkien Mee B1-34 also my favourite).Tian Tian chicken rice is just OK only for me so I don't eat it any more .

Are all the food video showing are organic food? Are they encourage to eat organic food ? Base on the price of organic ingredient, the organic food are tasteless and no much sweetness and flavor. Should use approved more industrial food chemical to enhance the flavor of organic food. Can eat more things into the body.
