Oh man, the midichlorians detail is huge. I never understood why that was so controversial but a lot of people think that the force was supposed to be this mysterious thing.
@pedrorenault53357 күн бұрын
And it bugs me that people think midchlorians make the Force less mysterious. The only thing it makes is saying that some people are naturally more genetically gifted in the Force, which was pretty obvious since Luke, Leia and Vader were all Force sensitive and pretty strong in it

The novel for episode 4 states clearly that C-3PO knew that he and R2-D2 had been together for a long time and thought that they had been through many memory wipes. That means that this was always there. It was after seeing the prequels and the line about wiping 3PO it made some of the things R2 did make sense. He knew what farm they were on, and hoped that Luke would go looking for him so he could get Luke and Obi-Wan together without Owen and Beru knowing. Chewbacca is another one. He knew who Luke was talking about when he said Yoda. But the big thing with him is shooting Ben Solo after Han died. Just think about all the pain and resentment he had against the Skywalkers. At this point he knew that Vader was Anakin.

The Senate DID NOT vote for Palpatine to become emperor. There was no vote there. They just accepted out of fear of the alleged treason of the Jedi Order and to finish the Clone Wars for good.

The last time Beru and Owen saw C3P0 he wasn't golden. He looked different the last time they saw each other, it was decades ago and there are tons of similar looking droids in the galaxy. @BilSande4Ай бұрын
First, I don't think Beru even saw 3PO at all in "A New Hope" and Owen only interacted with him for about 5 minutes (or less) before he told Luke to take him and R2 inside and clean them up. He never interacted again with either droid at after that. The next morning R2 was gone and Luke took 3PO out to look for him. Then the next time we see Beru and Owen they are smoldering corpses. So, there's a good chance that after 20 or more years, Owen didn't immediately connect the dots that this was the same droid from all those years ago.

thats one thing i think people mistake about george- its not that the prequels were bad cause he was surrounded by yes men- that just doesnt make sense you surround a buncha good artists around eachother you get a triple platinum single proof some of Georges best projects are coincided with Spielberg- artists bounce off eachother any fights are a personality thing not an art integrity thing. the reason old fans recieved it poorly is simply because it was too dense for them to parse. the longer these movies are in the publics memory we keep finding things about the prequels to appreciate and thats not an accident- it was done with love- everyone was giving a 110% trying to reach not only the funnest things they could do but literally improving the industries effects tool kit once again- like the 00s starting with this and the matrix just kept inventing new techniques and technological solutions to film making. and the public focus at the time was timid about increased cgi use. we still see it in some reviews today i know the tarkin and leia cgi for rogue one was really panned but when i saw it i honestly didnt get what they were talkin about. but all thats just to say we arent going to understand something so stuffed with long term treats and eastereggs- setups for the future movies or themes and parallels until some youtube guy makes an hour long special about it 10 years later. now me i was 9 when episode one came out and i still think 1 and 3 are int he same league as 4 and 5. easily. part of the reason is the care in the characters and events that stand out. it kinda feels like its a big song- i recognize scenes with very little detail simply because how iconic each movies visual focus gets- think about say the n1starship that design was only seen in episode 1 and its easily one of the best starfights georges art crew has ever pieced together- the droid vultures somehow gave the same feel and disposability of tie's while also being unique and having its own visual identity. thats something each prequel would do episode 2 centers the slave1 and the jedi starship is a brilliant call back to the a wing- they tighten up the space action and match empire with a chase in a meteor belt bein the main fight- they also introduce the criminal underground (and its connection to the emperor) just like bespin space port would in empire. the ryhming thing is real they even disarm the party by making them meet someone they know. just this time its eachother as the party converges and will have to escape the bad guys plan- also lured there by promise the emperor would stop by. also its subtly implied anakins crazy spiral into genocidal madness is the vision that invades luke in empire while hes trying to fight the darnkess in degobah. like i said its so fucking dense no wonder audiences couldnt just get it- too distracted by the things they thought they could understand. also people in general just hate jarjar for no ass reason he has three comedic scenes in the entire movie- after that hes barely a c3p0 stand in with like one liners and the resident coward with a heart. like yall got way too high off your smug on that one hes not that bad. plus the actor is a genuinely cool guy and didnt deserve the heat as did none of the face actors cause boy did the audience do them dirty and im glad they get to see the fans who love em cheer em on now. i could gush for 80 more walls of text about these 6 films- yeah even return of the jedi. dudes a damn good storyteller and the worst starwars movie is still prolly a better movie than many others get to be. you are mistaken: in the original trilogy, he had other directors, and dialogue writers, in the prequel trilogy, nobody else stepped in to take care of things that Lucas knew he had weaknesses in. it's why the dialogue is so clunky, and some of the acting is wooden.

@@kenbrown2808 the dialog in starwars is consistently out there. thats not a unique feature to the prequels and no pushback would change what "weakness' perceived or otherwise- and it becomes quite clear most people just got hype disappointment and reached for every straw to try to explian why- yall just got caught in the hypecycle and once you were in it your expectations were going to be impossible. and and- i cant reasonably find a way to change the dialog that would do the same thing but be more palatable to the artistically illiterate. if you walk into a new hope with the same critical mindset youre gonna call luke whiny, han misogynistic (thats why harrison ford wasnt a fan hed rather be indiana.) leia got damseled in empire we just didnt care- like i could go on you could be super critical of anything and find something to present as poorly acted or bad dialog- cause thats all taste not objective- what pushback would even be useful XD just no those movies were goated and it immediately becomes obvious because none of the disney movies measure up to them. hey hey solo had good dialog and natural sounding drama- people still didnt like it as much- theres a reason for that.
@kenbrown2808Ай бұрын
@@36inc you're conflating legitimate criticism with fan disappointment. yes, Luke was whiny, and Han brash. yes, some of the dialogue in A New Hope was clunky. not coincidentally, Lucas did more of the dialogue and directing of A New Hope, than he did of Empire and Jedi. but you're here mistaking "it wasn't as good as it could have been, because Lucas didn't get the help he asked for" with "worst movie ever because it didn't have the plot element I wanted" the key difference between episodes 1-6 and the disney releases is Disney retconned everything they would have had to pay royalties on, and made up the story arcs as they went. Solo had dialogue, but what it didn't have is the story arc that has already been established for Han Solo's life for decades.
