I'd say they both have merit but for that song the baritone has a deep rich sound where the Tenor has a higher pitch sound (obviously 😂)

I have been playing an 8 string tenor ukulele for about 8 years and I love it. The 8 string baritone is also a wonderful instrument, just a little bit bigger then of course the chords are different, more like a guitar.😊

Both are so cool. How does it feel to play single notes, finger picking on a double course string? That baritone is practically a Renaissance lute. I ❤ both!

The baritone sounds more full, almost identical to a guitar. But the tenor, there's no mistaking that's a ukulele. Maybe someone would mistake it for two ukuleles haha! But they both sound amazing! I don't think I can pick...

The baritone is to ally richer than the Tenor, but it would be. Sounds like the Tenor is using reentrant tuning. For this song it might benefit from a low G 🎶😊

That baritone has a low tuned 4th string which I like more. On my tenor, I went with a Low G this time around and love it. Gotta alter my playing a hair since the low G can be kind of drone sounding, but I like it overall more.

On repeated listens I'd say, Baritone! It's got a classic weight to the tune, really love that from instrumental pov, especially without singing the lyrics!!! I wish I was in music this way professionally tho...you make quite awesome content, thanks 💙❤💙❤💙

Very close, but as you would expect, the Baritone has a more wholesome bottom...both are excellent. The Tenor leaves your brain in Ukulele-ville...😊

IMHO, the baritone has a much better bass sound, and the tenor has a little better treble sound.

Both sound fab, obviously the bigger baritone with the bigger body has a fuller base sound.

They both sound wonderful. My guess is it depends on the song being played and how each uke can complement other instruments used in the song. I bet they'll sound even more wonderful when played together in a song, especially is they're used for call and response type passages

As far as them being 8 string instead of 4, it makes no difference and they are played the same. However, the tuning on a baritone is different than all the other Ukes. Baritones are tuned like the top 4 strings on a guitar (dgbe) and the rest of the ukuleles are tuned gcea.

The tenor has that island ukulele sound. If you close your eyes the baritone just sounds like a guitar. Both sound great, but I'm biased towards the tenor.

I like tenor but I also like both high and low g depending on what I’m playing. High g for Jake type things on a tenor and low g for herb Ohta style on standard or concerto.

If you listen with closed eyes: baritone ukulele sounds close to a small guitar? Tenor ukulele sound is brighter and not necessarily better? I think it comes down to preference and what you think is more suitable for the song?

Kind of like an eye exam. Number 1 or number 2? I guess #2 the baritone in this case. Both sound good. For me a baritone is like a small guitar and has a slightly deeper fuller sound.
