Rob Scallon is an Eldritch Old One confirmed, not that we didn't have our suspicions beforehand. Certainly explains his otherworldly skill and with so many instruments

Not to mention if you can play bass parts on an 8 string, it gives the bass guitar some room to play a solo. So not only are you gaining more musical territory, you’re giving the bassist more room to add to songs!

I totally agree with you so much on every single point of this vid. I play guitar for over 20 years now and recently bought my first (cheap, yet effective) 8-string multiscale and I hadn't this much fun in playing the guitar in years. Especially since I've seen all the awesome stuff people (like you) do with it besides djenting around. Not that I don't love the djent, but there's so much more to it than just that. The 8-string actually motivated me to dive deeper into music theory, scales, modes, tapping, sweeping and all this stuff that I missed out on for so long. The 8-string saved me from depression, suicidal thoughts, sleeplessness and gave me the stuff that as I can remember only the Cello gave me. So in my opinion you're 100% right. Thumbs up.

Yeah I totally agree with you too ! 8-string guitar did cure my cancer, got my wive back, and a promotion at my job ! Also my hair stopped falling, and grew back again ! All hail 8-string ! 🙏🙏🙏

If you get a 7 string and tune it on a traditional Russian classical guitar tuning you get a whole 100 years worth of repertoire of classical guitar songs. Also there is a 10 string guitar called Decachorde

Hi, Thank you for designing such a wonderful instrument. I got my hands on a 2nd hand ml 8rs and absolutely love it. Great neck and playability, really nice pick ups I love their mellow sound. I come from classical guitar (it's my main instrument) and really like the clean tones and dynamics I get with this instrument. I don't know happened between you and Chapman guitars, but the instrument you designed is absolutely great, it's a shame they stopped producing it and I feel fortunate for having the opportunity to own one. I actually didn't know who you were until I bought the guitar and realized it was a signature instrument. The only video I saw from you in the past is one video you make a complete fool of yourself trying to play vintage classical guitars... Sorry... :)

Oh man, this video is gonna put me in a tight spot. I have been coaching a couple of young and certainly promising guitarists through their beginner stages and as a 8-string player myself i have tried to convince them to first get a 7-string and just build up from there. Especially considering the fact that 8-string guitars just demand a whole lot more from your pickups or amp and the fact that you can get a really killer quality 7 with a pretty small budget vs. 8´s where you just pretty much have to spend at least 4 digits to get to the good stuff. Spending all your savings on a bad guitar can ruin your motivation pretty bad, especially as a younger player. But all that aside, i love my 8-string and could not agree with you more. Sure, it drives me nuts every time i try a new string gauge but it keeps me inspired and creative just like my Squier Strat when i was 14. There definitely is something fascinating about the 8-string.
