Citric acid should not be missing in any household and there are really good reasons for that. Because what you can do incredible with it, I show you in this short video.
1. put a good amount of citric acid together with cold water in your kettle, if it is heavily calcified. Let it sit like this for about 1 hour. After that, rinse everything out and give it a good rinse. All the limescale will be gone from your kettle.
Take 50 grams of citric acid and pour it into the drum of your washing machine. There should be no extra laundry in the washing machine. Start it at 30-40 degrees and stop it after 15 minutes. Leave it off for 30 minutes and then start it again. You have perfectly decalcified the washing machine. 3.
For the next trick, dump 50 grams of citric acid into your toilet. Distribute it well and then dump 50 grams of baking soda after it. The two react directly together to help you with urine scale and lime buildup. After 30 minutes, wipe the toilet again and it will be perfectly clean.

7. You can even clean the stainless steel sink with citric acid. Tilt a small amount of water to some citric acid until a paste is formed. Wipe your sink with it. Now put cling film over it and press it well to increase the cleaning power. After an hour, remove the foil and wipe everything again. The sink is clean again.
8. To descale the shower head, mix water with citric acid, soak a paper towel in it and place it on the shower head. Let it soak for some time and then remove the cloth. You've successfully descaled the shower head.

Fantastic thank you. I used half a cup as close to 50 grammes of citric powder. Cleaned my cistern, my toilet bowl, my kettle, my CPAP humidifier plate and my washing machine is on clean cycle now.

Mixing the baking soda with the citric acid neutralizes it so you only get the abrasive effect instead of the desired effect of the acid removing the hardwater buildup. You'd think people making these videos spreading this information would be aware of this with an elementary school level of education.

Pretty sure it takes a bit for it to neutralize. So when you mix them right at the time you want the effect to work, you're fine. He's going for the fizz reaction. I would have figured anyone with an elementary level education would know not to be so rude... I'm not sure what you were going for, but if you were trying to insinuate that the poster only has an elementary level education, that's way beyond just rude.
