The part about red flags was very helpful for me Im a very anxious person so I do tend overthink on things like that and I needed to hear that its okay to talk about some "red flag" issues and grow with each other instead of just running away from it sometimes.

One of the hardest things for me was the difficult conversations (since we both hate conflict), but I think I've found a way to address present problems in a constructive way so that we get to talk through it. I mean relationships can be complicated (mine is no exception), just remember to look out for yourself and your well-being first and foremost.

Being able to love myself has been one of the hardest struggles of my whole life. I’ve gotten better in recent years, but to be perfectly honest. I still have a very difficult time with this concept. There are days where I can barely manage the negative feelings I have towards myself. Would you be willing to go more in-depth on this subject in a future video? I know I would greatly appreciate and learn from it. Thank for this video.
@mankrip-
@mankrip- Жыл бұрын
There's no need to love yourself. The actual point, as explained in the video, is to learn to accept love from others. Even thought I hate myself, I let my wife express her love for me, and thanks to this we got together. And even though I hate myself, I don't talk about this to the people who loves me, because this would make them feel as if their love for me isn't making a difference (when it actually does help). "Love yourself" is more of a catchphrase than an accurate description of what people are trying to mean.
@loopzfordayz
@loopzfordayz Жыл бұрын
@@mankrip- you don’t need to love yourself if you don’t want to. But if you’ve never had that loving relationship with yourself, you really won’t be able to truly love another person. “Love yourself” is not just a catch phrase. It’s taking care of yourself the way you would want to be taken care of by someone else. Loving yourself allows you to be independent of outside validation, So the moment anyone stops showing you love, you’re able to walk away just fine because you know your self worth.
@loopzfordayz
@loopzfordayz Жыл бұрын
Look at yourself as if you were your own child. You have this child you need to take care of, what are you going to teach your child, what are you going to feed your child, how do you want your child to behave, how do you want your child to feel. Unfortunately many people forget to take care of their inner child before having kids and it’s one of the main reasons many kids grow up without discipline. In addition, it is extremely important to have that healthy relationship with yourself before you even think about starting a relationship with another person. It makes it so much easier to build a relationship once you’ve built yourself up. Patience and Persistence. Stay Positive!

I have been in a relationship for three months now, and it feels great to know that my approach has been right, specially because I have problems expressing myself, or even recognising how I feel at times, and even face trouble while responding to some stuff. The last point just hit so hard, it is now a routine for us, and I've always seen it as a bridge across the passing days.

this was such a helpful video for me. i have now just completed a month of my relationship and i have always worried that both me and my partner had used subtle manipulation tactics on one another (such as lovebombing and the silent treatment), and i was paranoid that these few details meant that we were doomed to be a manipulative mess from the get go. well, recently i had the talk with my partner and he agreed we kinda lovebombed eachother into a corner, and everything was great! we have great communication and do everything else in the video. but something kept telling me that just because we did something red flag-y at the start meant that they would always be present, which is not the case, and i just realised that now. thank you!

One thing that made my relationship toxic in the early stages (and is still a work in progress in some cases) is that neither one of us had a strong sense of love for ourselves... my boyfriend would struggle with low self-worth/depression, and my self-worth has been shaky since my teenage years for various reasons. We've come a long way with the help of some counseling and a lot of talking about uncomfortable, personal issues, but this isn't to say that we don't still deal with these issues sometimes. We just need to find that balance of having enough together time, and having enough alone time. ❤️

I think the best among these rules is the one about loving yourself. You must be able to love and value yourself first before other people can love and value you. Once you both value and respect yourselves, then the remaining rules of friendship can easily fall into place.

I'm glad my relationship checks off all of these items. There was one time my girlfriend and I didn't say goodnight to each other and it was because she took cold medication that knocked her out early. It's funny how little things can make such a huge difference. My past relationships didn't check all of these off (I would say equal blame between my exes and I) and I understand why they didn't last. I'm glad I learned, because I want to spend the rest of my life with this woman.

I messed up and ended my relationship awhile back and it was my first best real relationship and it’s been so hard to forget being with them (as I’m with them as friends cause I can’t just leave them they were funny cool awesome silly it’s hard to let them go cause I liked(and yes still but I recpecting being friends and school and I don’t wanna hold them back from anything, and I don’t want them to see me not able to love myself and sadly seeing the dark issues I have either) and they were my friend and I still wanna be friends, it ended it for a few reasons and I told her my reasons and I should have told her more of them cause I don’t know how to show my emotions or let them out and trust is hard and I doubt they wanna talk to me that much. I hope as I get older me and them can be friends who talk more then right now. I’m scared cause I miss them a lot and it hurts. And it feels like I really have no one to talk to or be around like no one texts me people barley talk around me it just always feel lonely. And that one person made me feel a lot better and not see how alone I was but barley talking to them :/

"Learn to love yourself" isn't necessary, actually.

I’d recommend watching the video again, that’s not the point at all. By going about your relationship in that way, you are depending on someone else for love. By loving yourself, you depend on yourself for that love. Bottling up your feelings is never a good idea, if you hate yourself for any reason, you need to open up about it and figure out why you hate yourself or else you might just be sabotaging your relationships.

Self love is a big plus point in relationships, some people can not enjoy their own company what leads to to much attachment with the partner which can be very uncomfortable over time. some people don't like how they look like and are insecure about certain things and that leads to jealousy and being controlling over their partner. some people do not take care for them selves and are most likely to get their partner grossed out which leads to a break up or lack of care for their partner.
