Genelec 8020D. Stereo image, frequence balance, bass pressure. Nice for mixing and mastering

Very close but Airpulse is "fuller" sounding across all tracks from bass to tweeter. Bass from Genelec is a little empty and seems to be missing some frequencies in comparison -- which is weird cos looking at the frequency chart 📈 looks like Edifier is dropping some if anything. Maybe they've got better DSP (or enclosure or crossovers) for stopping frequency phase interference so the sounds reach your ears without cancelling out different frequencies -- sounding "fuller". And that tweeter on the Edifier reveals more details. Almost like it's adding a few frequencies or enabling HD audio lol.

AirPulse and Genelec are both expensive products, but A100 gives much more "bells and whistles" for the asking price. Soundwise though, I have to give an edge to Genelec for more natural, cohesive and consistent midrange. Which one would you pick for your setup and why? Let me know in the comments below! Cheers!

A100 show the classic V-shape, as one can expect from audiophile speakers For my personal taste I prefer Genelecs because of their honest sound, one can hear all in the its place

to me for listen music , i like A100 more than genelec, and better looking,and $200 cheaper, $200 can buy lot of pizza.and genelec whole thing is metal right??on that i give one extra point to genelec for home defend use.

wow! those genelecs are amazing despite their diminutive size....very very natural! a beauty...

Exactly same the 2 loudspeaker between 150Hz-1KHz. Under 150Hz push more bass. Unfortunetly around 2KHz (important freq in music) there is a blackhole what swallows the sound. 1,8KHz-4KHz and above 10KHz not balanced well. I know the ribon driver, crossover, etc...:-)

I feel like genelecs got betee mids high but doesn't go that low. Their bass also feels less smooth

they are pretty the same, except better heights of 100s, and genelecs win in classical track. As a mixing tool I would prefer genelecs for they better mids.

Those highs on the Edi A100 seem like the they may be fatiguing. Too bright of scatchy highs for some. A100's do have more to offer,however they are large and have no WAF my friends. Genelec wins here.

Genelec smoother highs and actually has a midrange. AirPulse scratchy highs and scooped mids. Easy win for Genelec.

Ribbon tweeter reveals a lot higher frequencies that the Genelec simply can't.

A100 wins

both are bright compared to the original track...the genelecs even more...thats no good thing for a studio monitor. genelec too bright with no body , didnt impress me. are you sure this genelecs are studio monitors??

AirPulse A100 Win

there is a huge question: while A100 being ugly tremendous in top high frequency band, in the measurement they appear to be flat. tremendous unnatural h freq representation perverts initial record.

Airpulses revealing but they suck. They're so strained, edgy, coarse, over sharpened. With that nasty plasticy sounding aggression/congestion around 8khz.
