Beautiful job Hammer, enjoyed the video, and nice welding job, I would like to see a follow up video to see how the welds held up. And I personally like the rough look on the anvil best.

Thank you! I can tell you that (with the limited covid use it's seen) it's held up ok. I had one friend wail at it repeatedly missing the steel, and that dinged the weld up quite gloriously, but otherwise there's not much to see.h

Hey, I saw your reddit livestream the other day and really enjoyed it. You mentioned that you had tried to pitch a blacksmithing show but that the TV people in Denmark didn't go for it... I just randomly came across an American show called 'Forged in Fire' (on their History channel), in case that model helps you at all. They have a challenge each week (e.g. Make the most effective battle axe in this particular style), it's like a competition. Anyway keep up the good work :)

Thank you! I'm very familiar with FiF, having watched all of it ;) I might pitch something again in the future, but for now it's all about forging on! :D glad to have you watching along

I have a circa 1890 Peterson Anvil with some serious ly damaged edges that I am thinking of resurfacing. I don't have a stick welder, but a mig welder. Will that be ok to use?
@MartilloWorkshop

If it's cast steel, yes. But if you wabt a hard face, you have to use hardfacing rod and I'm not sure that's available for mig

@@MartilloWorkshop Ewps, *Peter Wright @200lbs. Well, nuts. Ok. I was looking at buying a stick welder anyways. My Anvil has a depression hammered i to the top face and the table has bad cuts in it. It shows evidence of terrible abuse over its lifetime. It also has anchors cast into the front feet if that actually puts it in the 1890s to early 1900s.
