Good memory for a birthday in 82. Thanks for watching, I still look back fondly at the crazy colors and styles of my time. Born in the 70s....I still didn't wear any of the aerobic stuff, lol.

THANK YOU....when it came to the box art, that was what makes them even remotely interesting to me. Okay, i did watch the cartoon, but the dolls were nothing compared to what was promised on the outside, right? Like that was what we either wanted to attain to look like, or draw like (in my case, lol). I tried to get an interview with Sharon, but didn't work out. Anyway, yeah, I am looking forward to the next one too. Thanks for the support, and please pass it on.

“JEM! JEM is Truly Outrageous!” If there was any doll line in history where every shade of pink imaginable was explored and obsessed over, it was JEM, the OCD toy of pinks! I 🩷the color pink! Hasbro took a cue from Jem’s predecessor, Kenner Darci - they had an identical body construction - for a few of the outfits there, specifically the outdoorsy florals and the Disco-esque gold lame or “Glitter n’ Gold” theme, which also happens to be my favorite JEM fashion line because I am reminded of the glamorous Dynasty soap opera television series. “Truly, truly, truly outrageous!”

I am so glad you enjoyed both of the Jem Videos. It was a fascinating show and the Barbie vs Jem was awesome. A great 80s times for sure.

The box art is incredible, Sharon Knetall had the doll fashions re-created and put on models to make such amazing box art. There was only 3 female models for all the doll box art, and I met the Rio model at Jemcon 2023. The illustration on the fashion boxes are by Judith Nelson. Those were presentation illustrations used in Hasbro to get each fashion or doll approved for prototyping. I have the presentation illustration for Riot. Sharon based her illustrations on the doll fashions and Judith’s illustrations. The actual fashions were also based on Judith’s illustrations. Where the doll fashions might not live up to the illustrations is the material. Everything was illustrated for life-size women, but the fabrics and pattering are not the same.

the Scooby Doo gang clothes did change in the 2000s

You are absolutely right. Even in the original in 1969 and 70, although 99% of it was in the same outfits, they occasionally wore some WINTER WEAR during snow scenes. But as you know overall, it is easier to animate the same look...and it keeps them familiar and recognizable too. However, I do like the changes they have made over the decades. Mostly similar, but with nod to their original looks and color schemes. Thanks for watching.

@@GENXPERIENCE In what's new Scooby Doo Daphne and Fred and different clothes Daphne's dress and shoes are different and Fred's shirt has blue stripes

@@ouatcosplay yes, they did. Those slight nods to their original looks are always awesome. I am glad that new series get some new designs. During Scooby Doo Where are you, the original series in my era, almost all cartoons had their signature look (with some variations in the series, but very few). It was nice to see Jem, again a cartoon of that era (mid 80s), where so many different fashions. It was refreshing and cool. But I know not all cartoons could change clothes in almost every episode. Thanks for the comments.
