Hey everyone! After hearing from a bunch of you Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE fans, I've finally made the video you've been asking for. Quick heads-up: English isn't my first language, and my German accent is pretty thick. Feel free to laugh and poke fun at me in the comments-I can take it!
If you've got any questions or just want to chat about this bike, drop a comment below. Just so you know, I'm not a pro mechanic or anything. I'm just someone who really loves riding this bike, a lot.
In this video, I'm sharing all my experience and what it's been like riding my Scrambler for over 83,000 KM (that's 52,000 miles for my friends using miles). Also, I'll show you how I deal with the Mosko Moto luggage setup to keep it from getting too hot and melting. Make sure to watch till the end for all the tips and tricks!
Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE.
Bought it brand new in 2019. One of the first coming off the production line.

If I was unclear or forgot something, let me know in the comments. By the way, I had the main service done at my Triumph dealer. They checked the valves twice, and both times they were okay. If I remember correctly, they only performed a shim adjustment once. I'm also referring to the Mosko Moto Set Up, my custom skid plate, Tamarit fender, Tamarit skid plate, and much more. 🏁 💥Information on my travels and what I'm up to, visit my website. www.scramblertales.com 💥My Motorcycle T-Shirt Shop: www.scramblertales.com/shop 💥Vintage Style T-Shirts, Funny T-Shirts, Quotes, and all related to Motorcycling.

Here you go :-) They are from a German company. Maybe they have English language. I see only German. www.motobau.de/product_info.php?language=de&info=p433_-baerenfallen----tiefere-va-rallye-fussrasten-triumph-tiger-explorer.html They are actually for the tiger Explorer, but fit the scrambler. Version 52 x 90 gives you a drop of around 2 cm. I am very happy with them, no issues, nice and wide. That was 5 years ago, when there were no third-party items yet for the scrambler. Maybe there are other ones now available. For me, the drop of 2 cm was important as I am very tall.

Hi there - thank you for the extensive review. I noted the SW Motech crash guards and your engine cage. I am exploring installing the same combination, and I have a difficult time finding an answer to the following question: are the SW Motech mounting points different from where the engine cage is mounted into the frame? I am trying to figure out of any customization is required to mount the SW Motech crash guards in combination with the engine cage. Thank you for your consideration.

Hey, I can only speak for my model, the 1st edition 2019. The SW-Motech and Triumph engine guards fit on without any modification. But for newer models, I can't say anything. I know for sure from a rider who rides the latest model that there is no version from SW yet. He tried to weld the one from 2019, and it does not fit at all. Too many modifications to make, I guess.

Thank you! I'm really glad you liked that. Enjoy my other videos. I don't upload regularly; I do it when I have time. I've got 2 years of traveling with this bike on video. Imagine, it will take me years to put them all online 😂. I'm not fond of the direction KZfaq is heading at the moment, with the way it influences people, sponsoring, and so on. I guess there must be a lot of money in it. Anyway, it's not really my direction. But who knows? Maybe I will be into it in 30 years. Oh wait, I'll be above 80 then. So, sponsoring will be about diapers for bikers.

@ScramblerTales
@ScramblerTales 2 ай бұрын
Es freut mich zu hören, dass dir das Video gefallen hat. Wenn ich voraussehe, dass es schmutzig wird, verwende ich einen Lappen, um überschüssiges Öl zu entfernen. So haftet weniger Sand daran.

Thanks so much for this, so great to learn from your experiences. So true about the water and mud hitting you with the high front fender, I was completely covered in mud after the first time I put it on and went through a muddy area. I know use the high guard when at home and put the original guard with fender extender on when travelling. What hand grips are those? I find the originals very thin (small diameter) but the foam ones were too thick. Yours look like thinner foam than the ones I bought. I use an OBDII dongle too but mine is wired for use with laptop but this is no good on the road. After seeing your Blackview phone and USB dongle set up I'm going to change so thank you for showing us that 🙏🏼. I see you have a power outlet cord under your seat. I use and SAE cord from the battery and run it to the fuse area where it's coiled up with a velcro strap. When I need to use the pump or other things that need power (jumper cables for example) it is easy to get to without having to take luggage and the seat off. I can fully recommend the SW Motec engine guard bars too. These protect not only your bike when you drop it but also your leg as they prop the bike up a bit and allow you to slide it out a bit like there cylinders on a GS do. Happened to me on a trip last year. Sub and bell from me and happy trails.
@ScramblerTales
@ScramblerTales 3 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for the compliments. Really appreciated. The hand grips I use are Grip Puppies amzn.to/4csNh2r ; they are thick, but I have large hands, so they're perfect for me. I've had them on for around 3 years now, and they shrink after some time, but they're very comfortable. The brand is expensive, but they hold up very well. I'm happy with them. Don't forget, when you put them on, if you have heated grips, they won't work as well anymore, or it takes longer for them to heat up. I never use the heated option, but it came with the bike. I have an SAE setup, going from that connection you saw into the Mosko Moto tank bag. I load everything from there - GoPro, Insta, phone, etc. But be careful, the alternator is not that strong; if you hook up too much, your main battery does not get charged. My plug-in has a voltmeter, so I check from time to time how much power I still have on the main battery. It is not in the video, LOL, because I stepped on it 3 weeks ago while packing... Again, thanks for the nice comments. I will probably ride the bike until it's not running anymore or it doesn't make sense anymore to maintain it. I still enjoy every second on it, especially on longer travels like this.

Ok I respect the work you've done here but. If your philosophy is that form follows function, why pick the Triumph Scrambler in the first place? It's a bike where practicality is sacrificed for aesthetics, yes?
@ScramblerTales
@ScramblerTales Ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment! I totally get where you're coming from. When I first sat on the Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE, it felt like home, and I knew it was the bike I wanted for long rides. Don't be misled by the tank cover, luggage system, and sheepskin-when I'm not traveling, my bike looks just like any other Scrambler. The changes I've made are really minor and don't affect its look much because I love its retro style. Compared to bikes like the Tiger, GS, or KTM, the Scrambler has a unique charm that I really connect with. And it's not that huge. Plus, I wouldn't do what I do at the moment with any of the big adventure bikes, except the T7 or the new Kove. But I just can't get warm with the look of the unicorn bikes. While it might seem like the Scrambler sacrifices practicality for aesthetics, I find it strikes a great balance between the two. It's not just about the look; it's about how it rides and feels. For me, it perfectly combines classic style with the functionality I need for my adventures. What is your bike for longer travels, if I may ask? Take Care and ride save Frank 🏁👍
